How is your relationship with your parents? Do you have other people in your life who you are not directly related too, but consider to be parental figures to you?
Cheers,
Hat

@Hat:
My relationship with my parents is good. :) They both live in Oregon so with me half a country away in Oklahoma we don't really see each other. But we stay in touch. Facebook/Text/Call with my mom. And although my dad has a facebook, he's more the
just call 'em
type. They support me and although they, my dad especially, may not agree with everything about me, he doesn't let that hinder his love for me nor does he judge me for it. I'm a very lucky young adult to have the parents I do.
As far as others, I do have people I consider parental figures. No 'dad' figures but as far as motherly figures go there are a few. My girlfriends mom, my 5th grade teacher and ironically my sunday school teacher who I met when I was in the 2nd grade.

What do you plan on contributing to the off-topic forum?
What are your political views?
What are your religious views?
Tell me something unique about you that I simply cannot forget. Since I don't know who you are, this will be the thing I'll identify you with forever.

I plan on building a reputation, hopefully positive for the most part. Contributing ideas, thoughts.. etc.
I tend to side democratically. However, I also tend to stay out of politics. I usually lose my cool on many different subjects. So it's just better if I stay out of it.
I don't have a religious view so to speak. I am neither for nor against God. I believe he exists. I believe in the possibility of a heaven and a hell. But I also believe that Christianity has far too many faults for me to say I truly could ever belong to it. Every 'Christian' I have EVER met either IRL or online has gone against what they preach. It makes it awfully mind boggling to decide what type of view and/or religion I want to belong to.
Working on the unique part. I definitely want it to be good.

A few for you mainly because I like to know everything about everyone...I’m just nosy that way, hence why I’ve been stalking around here for quite a while ^_^
When did you realise you were attracted to women?
What do you like most/least about Wowhead?
If you could change one thing about your life what would it be?
What is your best personality trait in your opinion?
Finally a question I ask everyone I can, which is better, a hot drink on a cold day or a cold drink on a hot day?

@Gorsha -
I have always known. I remember being in the 5th grade with the hugest crush on one of my friends.
Most: Not having to ask Trade Chat anything.
Least: Some of the users.
I would change the abuse I went through emotionally and physically. It doesn't affect me like it does some people but it's still there, in the back of my mind, every day.
Acceptance & Equality. Maybe it's because I am forced to fight so hard for acceptance & equality personally that I go above and beyond offering that to everyone I encounter.
Cold drink on a hot day. No contest.

Cheers for answering before I decided to sleep, means I can ask a few others that have been buzzing round my head without having to edit or double post
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
What is your favourite genre of music?
And as you seem to hate trade chat as much as me, Wowhead being shut down forever or 12 hours straight of trade chat?

Outside of the marriage rights issue, what types of direct discrimiation have you experienced?

Age, gender, sexual orientation, appearance, wealth, criminal status...
Most of them are infrequent but I have had all of these at one point or another.

Sorry, I will explain better.
With the exception of marriage issues (since that is its own topic here), what other types of discrimiation do you see, and how often?
I only ask this, because I really wonder how much people actually discrimiate against gays, especially directly (such as verbal abuses, denial of services, ect).
I know we strongly disagree on the marriage issue, but in all other aspects, I could never see myself treating a gay person in a negative way. I would have no problem hanging out with a gay person, or serving them in a business, or hiring them....ect.
I am just curious if you have experienced other, more direct types of discrimination or lack of acceptance.

I have most certainly been fired for being gay. Been denied promotions. On a non professional level, when I first visited Oklahoma before moving here, I was standing with my girlfriend, taking pictures on the side of a country road. Sunset pictures. When a car drove by and yelled "F** mother f***ers!" I was 17 at the time and having been raised in Oregon, all I can say is Oklahoma is drastically DRASTICALLY more conservative.

Oklahoma is drastically DRASTICALLY more conservative.
How about more homophobic, hate-filled, or intolerant.
I am conservative, and I can promise you, words like that have not, and will not, ever leave my mouth.

Let's not generalize entire states.

Is Arkansas excluded from that rule?
I mean you can't even solve a murder there because all the DNA is the same, and they have no dental records.
