Some old platformer heroes could totally be brought back. Jazz Jackrabbit and Commander Keen.
I would have said Planescape Torment, but we already have Torment which is bloody amazing.
I would have said "bring back the classic text-heavy isometric rpg style", but we have Wasteland 2, Project Eternity and Torment doing just that. Man I can't believe how much I miss texty games. Having recently played the remake of Baldur's Gate 1, I really had to appreciate how much writing skill you can display in those texts in comparison to when everything is voiced. Voiced stuff is nice when you also have the
acting
that complements it... like the amazing acting performances in Far Cry 3... and not like the stiff faces and generic gestures of Dragon Age 2. I loved the text in the old rpgs for the same reason I love reading books... it gives you a guidance about how to picture things, but it doesn't limit your imagination. Those tiny low-rez sprites offered so little info as to how the character actually looks like, and the descriptions of them usually described only the most visible things, there was plenty to fill up with your own imagination. You could ask five people to draw a picture that would best characterise some character from an old rpg (that wasn't voiced and didn't have a portrait), and you would get five completely different drawings, and that's awesome.
Hm, there was this old ass rpg called
Septerra Core
, I wouldn't mind if it got a sequel.
I also wouldn't mind a sequel of
Arcanum of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
, that game had an amazing setting, and it was fun to play a super powerful mage, or a junk-hoarding gadget loving Mac Guyverish character. The only downsides was that speccing into explosives or firearms was a waste, because they were badly balanced. The game also had two rather varied storylines, one for a good character and one for evil, that was pretty neat as well.
Then there are these games that did get sequels, but the sequels absolutely suck and I would rather have the designer guys return to the drawing board, remind themselves of what people actually liked about those old games, and try again. Perfect examples? Bloody
Gothic 4
, which was a flop of epic proportions. Gothic 3 was not praised by fans very much, but all badmouthing of Gothic 3 pretty much stopped with the arrival of Gothic 4, which sucked so hard it made Gothic 3 look like a good game. In my opinion, if you wish to follow the goodness of the Gothic games, you want to go
Gothic 1 -> Gothic 2 -> Risen
. Risen contains dangerous levels of Gothic goodness. I personally saw it as a better sequel to Gothic 2 than Gothic 3 and 4 were, even though it had a somewhat different setting. Speaking of bad sequels,
Risen 2
is terrible as well.
I don't really wanna go into how Dragon Age 2 sucks in comparison to Dragon Age 1 and stuff, because I actually hate both DA and DA2. I can play them and do find them entertaining to a certain point, because their combat engine is just nice, and they do have a handful of characters that are fun to tag along, but I just really hate the whole Dragon Age franchise for trying to act up so grim and dark, when in fact it is such a bloody fairy tale...
The only thing that is happening with Fallout currently is the creation of the Fallout MMO. I am not sure if I will like it. I agree with Elura that the world needs more Fallout.
Oh, also... you know what universe needs more games that are based in it? Fricking
World of Darkness
. Why did the blood-sucking goodness end with Vampire the Masquerade? One would say that now, when Vampires are so bloody mainstream, this IP could thrive, but for some reason it does not. The rights to that IP are in the hands of the guys who made EVE online, and they are supposedly "working" on some sort of an MMO (it should have released in 2009 but there is like zero fricking media coverage of the thing, so yeah, I doubt it is ever gonna happen).
I could go on, but I have work to do and this post is already pretty long heh.

Didn't even know it existed until now.
Well, my yesterday was by all means super generic. I completed the Heart of the Swarm campaign, advanced in the campaign of Heroes of Might and Magic 6, and did a bunch of dailies and archaeology in WoW.

Irish pubs in England (there are several major chains that use Irish theming) take the excuse to put up some extra decorations on Paddy's day and regular pubs will probably have a promotion on for Jameson's or Guinness but I think it's a bigger deal in America (Ireland itself excepted) from what I can tell. At least on the east coast.

nothing, as we don't celebrate it here. So yesterday was a pretty generic day for me. I still did a lot in wow :P
Got my Sealed Tome of the Lost Legion on my warlock, raised her ilvl by 20 points in a single day, and got several achievements.

While I could try and sound semi-respectable and say it's because there are a lot of Americans of Irish decent, especially on the East Coast, the reality is that it's just a drinking holiday, and we do love our drinking holidays. Cinco De Mayo gets celebrated here too, to some extent, and that makes no sense- lol.
I was supposed to go to my family's house and do corned beef and cabbage, but my boyfriend got sick the night before (not drinking) and so I just ended up sitting home playing wow and skyrim.

hehehe our drinking holiday is november 18, now THAT's the time to get SMASHED! Specially if you live in the state of Zulia. (Which I do)

I agree with this so much its not even funny. The World of Darkness IP is by far and wide THE BEST vampire franchise ever. Forget buffy, forget blade, forget van helsing or dracula, forget Legacy of Kain and SPECIALLY forget twilight. VTM vampires are the best vampires.
And its a real disgrace that there are only 2 videogames of VTM (Redemption and Bloodlines). 2 videogames don't do justice to this setting, we need more.

Trollfucious had decided to try honorable mother's bourbon and vodka, but the taste was very nasty and he could not drink them. Trollfucious does not understand how honorable mother, and other honorable off-topic people, can drink so much of these that they fall asleep or do silly things or begins to speak funny like they are holding some of the bourbon still in their mouth and every word ends with "ithsh."
Trollfucious decided that he and Dogfucious would take the day and play music in his headphones and play the warcraft, so it was very much like other days.

Chocolate vodka is delicious.
And alcohol
always
makes me sleepy. I have to start drinking in the afternoon, because if I start in the evening, I fall asleep at 7 PM and wake up at 3 AM.
