I don't know if this artist could be considered underrated, as I understand the term one must be famous to be rated in the first place. Regardless please follow the link to see the work of one of the most brilliant and underrated artists I know of.

Singers: I'd say anyone in the epic/symphonic metal genre; it always makes me sad to hear all the crap on the radio, while these great bands don't get any air time.
Authors: Jim Butcher needs more love lol, as does Mercedes Lackey; as in, they should be promoted more and not crap like Meyers and the idiot who wrote 50 Shades of Gray(since both of those are identical).
Actors: Anyone who's not a teeny idol, does the same role over and over again, or is a complete tool should get more air time.
Directors: Other then Kevin Smith, I don't really have a favorite director, so can't say for this.
Artists: I'd actually prefer if some of the comic book artists out there would get more time and the chance to show off their work more. As for regular art, well, I'm not a huge fan lol.

I'm sure there are a lot of artists out there not getting the credit they deserve, whereas there are too many 'artists' on the radio and other media that get more than necessary.
Skrillex and Nicolas Cage come to mind.

This, pretty much. If I though for a couple hours I could probably come up with a list of a good 100 artists of all sorts that deserve recognition. Youtube, Deviantart, and the like are good places to find these underrated peoples.
Also, do game designers count? I have individuals/companies (not myself) that come to mind there

The only decent dubstep (band?) is Flux Pavilion - if anything, they deserve attention. At least more than Skrillex gets. As for other music, I agree with Adams - typically, metal bands don't get enough love while Nicky Minaj and Lady Gaga plague the radio, and they are horrible beyond description.
I think Steven Erikson and Jonathan Maberry both deserve more attention than they're getting - Stephanie Meyers doesn't hold a candle in a hurricane compared to Erikson, and Maberry - while not as well-versed in the English language as Erikson, writes pretty action-packed and
fun
novels.
There are a lot of others, but those two in particular jump to mind.
As for actors, there was someone but I forgot his name- I'll get back to you on that. Me.
Absolutely <3

Nicolas Cage isn't underrated, it's different. Everyone knows he can act well in more dramatic movies (i.e. Lord of War and Kick-Ass), but he insists on doing (mostly @#$%ty) action movies, which he cannot pull off, so people make fun of him. As they should.

Don't get confused that I think Skrillex and Nicolas Cage deserve credit. I hate Nicolas Cage (he has abolutely no personality) and Skrillex? Yeah, let's not even go there.

Watch Kick-Ass and/or Lord of War, then.

Flux Pavilion is
okay
, but, imo, they're nowhere near the level of
Porter Robinson
or
Figure
.
And I'm probably going to pick both of those for my underrated artists pick. Figure is fantastic, but fairly underground, and the only Porter Robinson song that most people know of is the
Knife Party remix of Unison
(which was in the Red Tails trailer)

NOT THE BEES! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
ohhh you went there :P
Anyhows, artists that I think are underrated.................
Singers: I'd say James Labrie.
Actors: Voice-actors in general, these guys and gals are just as talented as common actors, and yet, unless you are a geek like me, you probably wouldn't even know them if they walked past you. People like David Hayter, Jennifer Hale, Simon Templeman, Yuri Lowental, or Laura Bailey are incredibly underrated and considering their superb performances in the games and animated movies they participate in, they deserve a lot more fame and recognition than they have.
Writers: Jeff Grub. Man is a genius, I've read 3 books of him, loved them all.
Directors: Michael Moore.................... ok fine that was a joke xD, I don't have any particularly favorite director.
Me.
Obviously. =D

#167- What's the most interesting thing you learned while online gaming? Have you ever learned something interesting or useful from someone you met in a game, or has something in a game been based in fact and you learned something by playing it?

Half the interesting things I know come from, in extension, gaming. I've learned so much about so many things from so many people. How things work in Venezuela, why people believe what they believe, that people don't like Stephanie Meyers, etc. I couldn't name half ot it.

The absolute most interesting thing I've learned is that lobsters are more or less immortal, and that was from an article on wowinsider where they were talking about Mr Pinchy, then linked to another article about crabs vs lobsters...yeah I've learned lots of weird stuff over the years lol.
