but with WoW, you're paying more money for a game that doesn't have that, so your argument there is invalid.
Not really; if you didn't pay the money for the membership, those locations/quests were locked to anyone on free play.

In my opinion you can't really compare WoW to RS. Sure they are both MMOs, but their game style is completely different. RS has great quests, much more in dept than WoW and a lot of other games. But because of their skill system they can get away with it. WoW doesn't have something like that so all their quests are more generalized.
I agree with the quests in WoW being, for lack of a better word, bad. But it is so easy to just skip the text and get what you're assigned to do. In RS you have to read a lot of stuff to figure something out, unless you use a help site. Even then though, it still takes a bit of comprehension to figure some things out.
You may not get all those fun mini-games in WoW, but you do have BGs, Arena and those raid instances. RS can't compare to those. The way the games move changes a lot. RS is all about clicking, which limits a lot of things you can do. It can also make it quite predictable where someone is going. WoW doesn't have that, so you can move around easily. It is much more fluid.
As I see it, each system works well for their game. Some things would be nice to have implemented, such as I wish we had teleport tablets :). RS may beat WoW in mini-games and quests, but WoW has the better PvE and PvP system.

So you're saying that the only thing that WoW does right is sandbox pvp* and raiding?
*you play a frost mage, blood dk or fury warrior don't you?
No you can see which toons I play on in my profile. My mage is Arc/Fire for PvE and I don't have a dk or warr at level cap.
The only thing they do right? PvP and raiding are the 2 main things they have in the game. Compared to RS who has all those mini-games and those different skills to work on.
But you're not worth the time to reply to anymore so I'm just going to stop with this one reply.

1st Bold: Yeah, but if they had better and more in-depth quests, you would WANT to read the text. The idea is that WoW needs to stop doing fetch quests, and fixing gameplay to make use of cooler and intuitive game mechanics.
2nd Bold: A game like Pest Control could EASILY be implemented into WoW, and don't tell me it can't because the minigame itself is so simple a chimp could program it.
Honestly, I doubt that. Unless it required a great deal of thinking, players would just skip over the quest text. I know when playing RS I would skip a lot of it. You find all that fun game-play in WoW from raiding and pvping, not the quests. If you don't do them, you do miss out on quite a bit.
Changing a lot of the quests would be nice, but I doubt they can do it the way RS is. I just don't see it happening, they are 2 completely different games with 2 completely different styles of play. Something I already mentioned.
They could add in those mini-games. But how long would they last before they just sit there and collect dust? Several games in RS happened like that, I know the one magic area is barely used. Pest Control doesn't get that active except for select worlds.

But how long would they last before they just sit there and collect dust? Look at the number of people who don't realize the Plants vs Ghouls is a daily(I'm one of those, someone on Beta pointed it out).

Pest Control doesn't get that active except for select worlds.
That's because Jagex specifically lists those worlds as 'Pest Control worlds'. It's a different atmosphere in WoW, especially because they can utilize the x-realm feature, this shouldn't be a problem.
And before they said they were specific game worlds, you had to either know someone or was in a guild. The main PC guild changes worlds so they don't get leechers.
Even then, there aren't that many people playing those certain mini-games compared to the rest of the players online. The only reason a lot of them play is to get points for the certain gear or to make pures easier.
Seeing as how in WoW you can't change worlds as easy as they do in RS, each server is on their own. It is worse for the ones that are low populated. Now if they made it an instanced area that people can que for it might work. But once again, how long would would it be before the game is just ignored for the most part?
