I usually play a shady class, like Rogue, Shadowhunters, Bladedancers etc.... if those aren't around, I just go berserk on a warrior... ORC SMASH!
I like classes with mobility. Classes that can get around, which means stealth classes, usually. Which means I usually end up playing dps classes, like rogues.
When playing table RPGs I usually go the monk route, great RP opportunities there, and it's not hard to come up with a background that sounds cool for a monk.
Anything that can tank. So if I'm only supposed to mention one class.... I guess warrior =)
I always mix it up. If I was a caster in the last game, I might play a rogue in the next and in the next I might be a paladin type.
In single-player RPG games, I'm often a tank / heavy-armor user. I like being able to take a hit without falling over!
I end up crammed into three stereotypes depending on which game I'm playing, but when the stars align and I can play my favorite...?Dual wield, two swords, preferably rapier/espada/anything in a similar vein, used in light combat focused more on avoiding hits and slowly whittling down the opponent, mixed with a variety of low-medium quality spells (not useless, but not nearly as powerful as a pure caster). Bonus points for classy yet realistic animations, stealth potential, and kiting potential. When I played FFXI, RDM/NIN was the closest to my soulmate class. Also, negative points for reminding me of my birthday, and more negative points for reminding me it's on a friday. Must find clever excuse to avoid people who think birthdays are worth celebrating at this age!
I like dual class characters, with a combination of caster and Ranger. I reallly like to kill the bad guys before they can get to me.
Usually my 1st play through with a new RPG I'm a warrior. Then I'll go with a caster or stealthy character depending on what peaked my interest the most.
What class? All of them!I cannot imagine only playing one, it would be like missing out on such a huge part of the game. Generally in games like Wow I'll play a healer or tank first, so I don't have obscene wait times on getting groups, but eventually I'll play every role, every class. Discounting the class differences if you break roles down to tank, heals, melee and ranged dps you are only really experiencing a quarter of the game by playing only one. I can't bring myself to do that, so definitely "all of them" is my answer.
I love anything Assassin. Somethings just need to die. And they should die in a fury of sharp pointy things from the shadows.
I tend to play glass canon casters just for fun, but stealth is usually a first choice for an alt
I had always played the warriorish classes as a result of finding DnD mage classes to be quite squishy. This changed for me though once I started playing world of warcraft. Through classic I played my typical class, the warrior. It made me happy. But after quitting for a while during BC a friend of mine told me he though I would love playing a warlock, he ended up being right. They redefined the manner in which I looked at mage classes and since then have aimed to find ways to break mage classplay in every rpg I play.
I'm pretty much a caster type person, since I hate being in melee range with mobs, so that's the role I usually choose. Even though lately I've changed my mind about melees :P
I'm always the nice guy in real life, so you'd think healer or chivalrous warrior/paladin... NOPE. I almost always play my first character in an rpg as a low-down backstabbing, dirty rotten, no good scoundrel. Great stress relief.
Depends on the RPG genre... D&D-type setting I'll fill what the campaign needs, in Champions I'm usually the one in powered armor. In WoW I've got one or more of everything ;)
