Not to mention that artists do not suffer as greatly as record production companies from piracy. Authors and artists have made decent amounts of money using the distribution system perfected by pirates: release content simply for free and ask for a donation or provide adverts as well. It cuts out the corporate profiteers.
For example, I read on Cracked that one of the authors there wrote a book that they got published in print. He earned $20k dollars and if the book sold more than 20k copies, he'd start earning $1 for every book further to that. If he had distributed the book as a pdf and asked for a dollar donation, it's entirely possible he'd make more money that way.
The last few albums I've bought have been available either in the majority or entirely online officially, which is where I first heard them and I thought I'd support the artists: MrVoletron, Scroobius Pip and Roy Zimmerman. Likewise with John Dies at the End. I read the first 50 pages online, enjoyed it and purchased a text copy. Once new systems of distribution come out, those that profit from the old ones don't want to compete. Luddites tried to smash the means of production without questioning the mode.

I really hope you're just trolling Face because as stated anything that EVEN IN THE SLIGHTEST is copyright infringement can allow them to shut down your site, make you a felon, and sue you for lots of money.

okay, i've read almost about everything.
i support this bill.
its so very obvious you've read jack-squat.
it mostly applies to movies // music.
companies spend millions just to create music, movies, and games.
this bill is going to be passed no matter what.
which proves my point that you know jack-squat.

face, while I can't say I necessarily agree with you on the piracy thing, that's only a small part of the problem at hand anyway.
Have you read any of the other posts in the thread?

is it fair when you come out with a good album, some foreign or loser in america advertises it on their own site, their own ads, and make money off of ur content?
Funny you should mention this actually. This act would do nothing to harm memebase or cheezburger, the people making hundreds of thousands of dollars off work people have created and uploaded for free. The concentration of people making money off other people's work is always highest when one looks at the greatest accumulations of money.
