My point still stands that we should not use addons to determine how hard a class is to play, as they can make all classes easy enough for a five-year-old. (I have experiance to know that, thanks to my kid sister.)

Actually, we should, since in
the actual environment of the game
, people
use addons
. The data that Blizzard acquires for judging whether X class is doing more DPS than Y class -- all of that is acquired from watching people who play with mods.
Except there are a lot of people who either don't know about addons or choose not to use them, also.

Irrelevant to whether classes get nerfed or buffed. Also, Give me a statistic for "A lot".
I know many people on my own server, and irl, who don't play with addons, so they exsist. I'm not sure how hard or easy it is to determine the actual ratio, but I'm sure there are nearly as many non-addon players as there are addon players.

And yet you admit that you struggle in the content you run.
So how, exactly, do they play the game for you?
They make it easier than it would be without them.

But they don't play the game for you, they make it easier to play.
You would rather watch the debuff on the enemy, which is quite small since you're not using any addons, then have something that can be scaled and next to the center of the screen where most of your attention is anyway.
The only thing most addons do is make the information already there easier to access. Healing addons just get rid of having to use mouse over macros and raid frames, which several people still use anyway as it isn't that different. With Vuhdo it shows what kind of debuffs are on the target by coloring the whole bar a certain color, something that isn't normally done on most party frames.
My friend does T12 stuff and the only addons he uses is Recount and DBM, he also has atlas loot but does nothing for the raid. Other then that he doesn't use any other addon, he doesn't even use keybinds that I am aware of.
And addons aren't the same thing as mods. Mods change the game, addons just enhance it.

Erm ... actually the two words are used interchangeably. That isn't a useful distinction to draw.
I meant it as addons are added to the game to improve game play, while mods are used to change the game that we are playing.

But both terms are used to refer to the same thing. Mods and add-ons both mean "Things you download from curse.com".
What I was saying about addons is pertaining to
Addons make the game easier. Sort of like mods to other games which give you stronger guns or whatever. I've seen halo mods brough online that make winning a joke, similiar to how addons can make classes like Spriests much easier to play.
Thus, like mods, addons are 'playing the game for you' by taking all the challange away.
In those games mods are changing the game, such as making weapons stronger some other advantage. There are no such type of "mod" for WoW, except the addons which only make it easier to play the game not easier to "win" (downing a boss, winning PvP and getting achievements).
Yes I see that mod and addons are interchangeable, but for what Atik was talking about they aren't the same.

Maybe I should stop using addons, in fact maybe I should stop using my mouse when I play on my laptop too, that makes the game much easier to play? I will just use my touchpad from now on!

Ahh, I see now. Apologies -- I didn't realise that was the post to which you were referring.
Its all good, probably would have been better if I just quote that in the first place.
