Just run heroics and need on the tank pieces?
Some tanks may complain and call you ninja, but it's 5-mans and Blizzard allows it, so just deal with it. And yes, I have lost rolls on my prot warrior to dps, but I just get annoyed with my rolls, not with the one rolling and move on.
If you want to be nice, you can wait for the tank to roll and if (s)he greedrolls, you can go ahead and need it.
Reputation rewards are also nice for starter gear.
Already you can get:
Guardians of Hyjal - - ilvl 333 neck
The Earthen Ring - - ilvl 333 legs
If you work on the Molten Front dailies, there are a few epic ilvl 365 tanking pieces you can pick up, as well.
In short, if you don't want to spend gold, you have to spend time.
Run dungeons (for gear and valor/justice points) and do dailies. When you have a few tanking pieces, throw some enchants on them and start tanking normal dungeons. When you have a few more, start tanking normal heroics. A few more and you start tanking the z heroics.

I'm a little confused and don't know what to tell you. From what I can tell, you haven't run any heroics and haven't really been playing your warrior at all. If you aren't running instances, and you aren't spending gold to buy BoEs or Crafted items... what exactly are you doing.
I mean, besides running Molten Core and AQ.
Getting reps up is a good idea, as is doing Molten Front dailies. Within the first day of opening up Molten Front I think there is like a Ring and Boots and a DPS neck you could pick up. Get a sword and a shield. Use any DPS pieces that have Mastery on it. You should be able to survive running instances.
The other thing you should do is to get some semblance of tanking gear and then queue up to run random Regular instances. You'll get some good practice, it will be easier so your gear won't matter, and you'll get some Justice Points. With Justice Points you can pick up some Tier 11 and other 359 gear.
