Half-naked women took to America's streets yesterday to celebrate National Go Topless Day.
They were protesting for the right to legally go bare-chested in public - just like men can.
Women and men stripped off for rallies in twelve states, including New York, North Carolina and California, seen here.
Women covered their nipples with fake latex versions to get around laws which currently ban them flaunting their boobs in some states.
Others used red tape or plasters to cover up.
Yes,women have rights to have the right to legally go bare-chested in public just like men. I'm all in favor for this.
I would give the link for the article, but I'll pass.
Would you support this cause?

It's not illegal in Ontario, so go for it.

meh, I dont wanna sound like an old geezer, but Female Breasts are irrevocably considered sexual organs in both the male and female minds. Exposing them is simply not decent.
Case in point, all these women who protest for their right to go bare-chested, would they be upset if someone gropes their breasts? you bet they will. Because even if they expose them, they still consider them sexual. I'm a guy, therefore it wound't upset me if someone patted me on the chest, but if someone pats a woman on the chest, that's considered sexual harassment since u're fondling a sexual organ.
Just because breasts are not genitals, and are not needed for reproduction doesn't mean they arent sexual organs, and because they are arousing, they aren't meant to be exposed, except between couples, and other exeptions. We live in dark times, lots of crazy people on the streets, going around provoking the MANY sexual predators out there with exposed breasts is not the way to go.
Again, my apologies if my words upset, or offend some of the people here, but I simply do not endorse this (And BTW; I love b00bies, make no mistake about that, but much like certain other parts of anatomy, they are not meant to be exposed out in the open)

I'd be very happy to have laws imposed to make men cover up as well for the sake of public decency, if we want equality.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Squishalot##DELIM##

I'm more partial to this :P if women want equality, they are going the wrong way, rather than make themselves go barechested, make MEN cover themselves while in public areas.
Ugh, have u seen some men without their shirts? jeez, there's a lot of guys out there who's exposed chests are enough to warrant the use of brain bleach. YUCK.

Not really, it's a quirk of (most but not all of) the culture of this particular time period.

I'd be pretty upset if a stranger came up to me and grabbed a handful of any part of my body in a clearly sexual fashion. I don't care if it's someone with a little-finger fetish, I still wouldn't find that acceptable.

I already said this in the last thread, but just to put it out there, I do not have a problem with people wanting and working towards a society that treats men's and women's chests sexually equal, but I do not think creating a public spectacle like that is proper.

I wouldn't and neither would any other man who engages in athletic activities in the stifling heat of summer. There is nothing indecent about a man without a shirt in an outside setting, hell I did it every day at work this summer as a lifeguard. Keep in mind that if you made a shirt required law it would restrict men's ability to go swimming without a shirt; just encase you didn't think of that.
Women do that every day. It wouldn't kill you.

No, heat stroke can kill you.
Obvious solution: Male sports bras. Tons of women around here jog in only sports bras on top, which is apparently perfectly legal, but seems unlikely to cause sunstroke.

The laws here in Ontario is that a woman is allowed to go topless, same as men can, and they won't get in trouble; after all, it's no different seeing ta-ta's on a woman....and then being scarred by the sight of a massively overweight male with man boobs that are covered by fur(we actually have someone like that in this area).

Do women want to be raped?
As rankorr said, female breasts are a sexual organ to men and are arousing. Walking around topless is a great way to encourage some creeper to stalk you and assault you.

Technically Queggy, the creepers are there no matter no what; whether a woman goes around without her shirt on or not, if they catch the eye of one those types, it can happen either way.

Around where I live, the law actually forbids people publically going topless with the exception of their own property, where men and women can do it. And hell, they can legally chill in their underwear if they want. (I don't...)
Technically, that is all it says. There is nothing beyond public indencency when dealing with situations off their property. So, as long as you have pants on, noone tries to stop you. The thing is, girls just don't want to go topless.

That's terrible logic. "Well it should be illegal because they're just asking to be raped more." You don't legislate what the victims are and are not allowed to do when you're trying to stop violent sex crime.

Then bring it back to the issue of whether it's decent or not. Equality is all well and good, but why should we (as a society) be stooping into further shedding of modesty, rather than tightening up?
