The Hammer is the primary servants of the Old Gods, next to whatever creature they build for themselves: Quarji for C'thun, the Faceless for Yogg, but when they need humanoids to infiltrate, they almost always send Hammer members.
I know that, but it doesn't make any less of a bore. It's gotten to the point where, we see something go wrong, and then they reveal the true culprit, The Twillight Hammer! Oh, big surprise. It's
these
guys again. They are about to reach the "Team Rocket"-status in my book. They keep coming back and they keep failing, repeatedly. At least the Lich King and Deathwing, ect. had us running from them at some point. They actually did
something
right. These Hammer-people just fail where ever they go.
That's because that's what the Hammer is: they are the mortal cannon fodder for us to bash while the big Bads move behind them and get into position to kill the Heroes.

May be, but I still *sigh* and facepalm whenever these guys are the culprits. I'd rather have rehashed content, than facing these guys again.

Well, as long as you fight the Old Gods, they'll always have the Hammer backing them; there were Twilight Cultists in the deepest portion of Ulduar after all.

But even then most of the appearances by the Twilight were pretty "subtle" so to speak as opposed to now.

Silithus was subtle?

As opposed to what's happened so far in Cataclysm where they're starting up operations all over Azeroth? Yes.

Well that's the entire point; the Hammer is the foot soldiers and cannon fodder of Deathwing, the Elemental Lords, Cho'gall, and others. That's what they are suppose to be doing...and no real different then the Cult of Damned seen all through out Wrath.

I wasn't disagreeing with your statement, just pointing out their operations are more apparent now than before.

They're mobilizing rather than just working underground. It does make them Team Rocket-esque, but it also points out that major movements of Deathwing/ the Old Gods are imminent.

It's 2.4 all over again.
I don't wanna be stuck in the same patch for 6 months.
Plus my subscription ends way before 4.3 will even be released.
Blizzard gonna have to do more than that to keep me playing.

Or just don't come back, since you just said you are going to let your sub run out?

I've spent a lot of time and energy on WoW, quite frankly I wouldn't know what to do with myself. It's just been there so long, kinda wanna see it from birth to death.

Guys...we are forgetting something. IF Deathwing turns on N'Zoth, but fails to kill him, we might have a 4.4, fury of N'Zoth upon us. I suspect that's how things will play out, cos Blizz know the dangers of spending too long on one patch..
Or It comes back in the next expansion backing Azshara? Which makes a lot more sense.

Just wait and see. You don't have to play to do that. Also, being "stuck" with the same patch for 6 months is nothing. We were stuck in the same major patch set for about a year (ICC) at one point.

He will NOT turn on N'Zoth in a significant way. Of that I'm pretty sure.

But consider how much of a grip the Old Gods have on Deathwing. Even considering the powers of two (or I suppose that two) of the Old Gods are "diminished," can Deathwing really break free and destroy N'Zoth?

He did before; he had three Old Gods whispering in his head to make the Demon Soul; they screwed up massively as he wanted the Soul more then letting their ultimate plan to succeed: The final battle before the sealing of the Portal involved Deathwing trying to grab the Soul while being blasted by the Legion, the Highborne and the Old Gods, and the Three Old Gods were screaming in his head, trying to drive him away.....and he only backed off when the spell started to collapse. Believe me, if it comes to that, he'll be able to break free of the control; honestly, if he was truly serving the Old God, he would have already destroyed the world, rather then working on conquering everything.

That's a good point, to be honest. The Hour of Twilight should've happened long ago. Maybe the fact he'd end up dead at the end is why he greatly resists following the Old Gods' orders?
