Couple of weeks back started raid leading the casual guild I'm in. A full 10 from the guild, only one other person in the group had gotten past the first 2 bosses, only 1 person other than that had even been inside BWD.... Full clear, 2 hours, no wipes. I love having guildies who can listen.
I wish mine were like that...
*200 magmaw wipes later*

I really don't see how that's an 'insult.' If he wants to spend four hours looking for nine geared Firelands raiders who are inexplicably willing to carry him through old content, that's his business. Other people being dumb because they thing it'll help them get one outdated piece of loot doesn't stop you from being sensible.

That doesn't even make sense, and he was trolling you. You repeating it here does nothing.

Exactly. People that geared probs faceroll through heroic modes of T11 content each week.

Fun fact, most people that clear firelands normal modes still can't clear heroic T11

I pretty much have the same problem with my 362 kitty - people ask for 365+ for cata t1 heroics or FL. I find that outright dumb, as I've yet to get my holy pally a SINGLE 378 item, whereas I've already managed to get through 3/7 FL HM.

It's not dumb so much as it's just lazy. They want a fast, clean and efficent run without the drama of carrying someone through it. The idea that requireing a high ilvl will weed out the bad players is what's dumb. Between the AH, crafted gear and the Molten Front, getting 365 item level is faceroll. If you are good at making gold, you can even buy carries through heroic t11 raids or normal mode t12 raids, with the guarantee that you will just be given any gear that you want.

how are you 3/7 HM FL without a single piece of 378 gear? no offence but are they carrying you?
(I suppose you could be geared totally in heroic t11 gear but that's not the implication.)
Not much carrying there, I did my fair share, two-healed HM Rhyo with a druid, ending up with about 23-24k hps (his was 35k, but hey - it's a druid, and there's lots of raid damage going on). My gear is 60% 371, 40% 359. It's just not at all hard to do Alysrazor, Rhyo and Shannox HM a tad undergeared. Others were killed in normal mode. Anyway, the raid asked me to join them, not vice versa. I still didn't get a single item from the lockout (and I guess I didn't even hope for one).

On my server, 378 crafts are a bit too much for me to grind gold for. My druid is full 359, with every possible 365 item from the Molten Front except the gloves, crafted Witch-Hunter's Harvester and even VP 378 braces and neck - I do my weekly heroics. However, it still seems a long way to average item level 365. The only option to get some fast ilvl boost would be Guardian rep, but, sadly, there is scarcely even one trash run going on per week. After the BoE drop nerf, that is.
Actually, this situation happened before. It was just before 4.2 hit, that people began assembling twink raids for BoT/BWD/TotFW. Before that, you were expected to have 355+ to get into one. And boss experience/achievements.

There's now 2 classes of players:
1) the hardcore raiders who've been raiding since release, have all the gear and achievements, and just want to faceroll the raids without having to bother teaching people or having to put up with it taking a few minutes longer than last time.
2) the (relative) newcomers who'll now never get to do those raids because they're never going to get invited to the content.
About a third of the times I see an item level restriction, the raid leader is under it. So it's either 1). or scrubs, who want to get carried under the excuse that they gathered people for the raid itself.
Anyway, sometimes the more hardcore people are willing to accept someone with lesser-quality gear and less experience, if it's a much needed *spec* *class*, and the person in question knows his job. For melee damage dealers, a raid group search can get extremely frustrating.
