Hey wowhead, while I do love the site this is the 2nd pc I have that has gotten a worm from your site. I am currently typeing this on my phone. I got a worm called w32.blaster.worm a generic-a trojan and various others. I am deeply upset by this because I love your site but I cant have my pcs getting infected by ur site. I constantly get pop ups asking for permission to run which I say no to yet still got hit. Idk what im asking for you to do but maybe check the security of the site

While I'm not saying that it's impossible that the worm came from Wowhead or an ad on one of its pages, how are you so sure that it's Wowhead that you're getting it from? Also, what version of what browser are you using?

I don't really kno right now, on my phone cause that worm just wrecked the laptop I was on. So I dont really know. I do know that coming on wowhead, I get alit of prompts for running scripts, and its like on every page change. Again I am not angry at wowhead, I just basically made this thread to give them a eads up.

The
Blaster worm
reproduces itself by exploiting a vulnerability in Windows XP and Windows 2000; in particular through the DCOM RPC service, which runs on a port open by default.
This means that it's impossible you got us from this website - or really
any
website - as it doesn't spread through the web, but rather through the port kept open by the RPC service. This means that you can get it simply by keeping your computer connected to the internet without doing anything else.
Install updates from windows update and this vulnerability will be fixed.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Koper##DELIM##
