Want to swap pet res mechanics, asakawa? =) I don't PvP on my lock so it's fine by me ^_^
Honestly though, the team in that video didn't know the class they were up against well enough (talking about Fel Dom, a spell that hasn't been in the game since wrath etc.)

As Sun Tzu said, "know thy enemy".
"'
If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight!
' Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor! Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat ...
and then he beat the crap out of every single one
. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a 'zoo'! UNLESS IT'S A FARM!" - The Soldier

Came across
this thread
(link broken due to Wowheads silly censoring) on Arena Junkies, it links to a
video
on YouTube. You might want to skip the first 4 minutes of the clip, the interesting part comes after that.
I really didn't know they could do that, that's insane! (Not to mention the excellent damage reduction that warlock seems to have).

Edit: Silly censoring on Wowhead, URL got the naughty f-word, you know the word that instantly turns kids into murderous rapists. Linking directly to YouTube instead. Americans... ;)
You..
didn't know that?
How in the world did you not understand the basis of our "why does our rez mechanic suck? Signed, Hunters" QQ? >_<

I didn't mean to criticise them like that at all (believe me, I'm in no position to criticise another PvPer), I'm simply saying that if they'd understood what they were getting into when they decided to try and down the Warlock's pet then they might have been in a better position. It seemed like the Hunter called that play based on him knowing that
he
would hate to lose his pet not based on the knowledge that a Warlock would hate that.
It's like basing a strategy around dispelling all Warlock DoTs then complaining about being silenced.
If Hunters are particularly weakened by their pet mechanics then I'm all for you getting buffed but I don't think that "grass is always greener" mentality helps much.
In that vein, I really like the last line of your post. I think you're dead right and I think Blizzard tries to look at things that way too in that they try to achieve balance without homogenisation.
I'm just saying that if that team (and you) was surprised by a mechanic,
that
doesn't make it OP.

Our basis of "hunter res mechanics sucks" is "warlock res is better"? No, I didn't know that, I thought it was based on the fact that it's near impossible to resurrect our pet in combat, not on it being worse than a similar ability of another class. I'll feel quite alienated from most other hunters if their whining is based on jealousy of other classes rather than how they experience their own class.
It's generally most of it. Technically, every pet class has it better than us, but Warlock just brings pet resurrection mechanics to a whole new level, you know?

Well you know how much Warlocks rely on their pets?
Comparing equivalent specs:
BM relies on their pet a bit more than Demo (consider that one of our main attacks and cooldowns in the spec requires the pet to be alive, but not so much for Demo)
The remaining specs rely on their pets about the same. The difference is it's easier to keep a Warlock pet alive and well.

You're basically expressing the epitome of the attitude I'm suggesting is unproductive there.
"Ressing a pet is too difficult in arena but pets are too important to lose" - is a position I can support.
"They've got
x
so I want
x
" - is boring and doesn't help make your argument.
If this thread is about Hunters needing better ways to keep their pet alive or recover from a lost pet then great. If it's about Warlocks (wanting what they have or wanting them not to have it) then that's a bit silly and petulant. Read what Warlocks are saying and, true enough they're not complaining about pets but they have plenty to complain about too.

Fair enough point.
The point I'm trying to get across, either way, is that Hunter's pet resurrection mechanics are really appallingly awful.

That seems entirely fair. Your pet heal is a lot better than a Warlock's (which is channelled) but I can agree that that doesn't really get close to being enough.

Actually. Both arguably have their faults. In PvE there's no doubt Mend Pet beats Health Funnel. But in PvP...both have their pros and cons (Mend Pet is dispellable, Health Funnel can be interrupted very easily).
I would also like to mention Fel Synergy is there for Warlocks. It's not much, but it helps.
