Good evening,
I am in the process of reinstalling WoW to try out the new content now that the leveling rush should have leveled out some. But I am having a issue with installing it fresh. This is a new computer that I am using for it, so it has never seen a WoW install, so no spare files laying around, and it meets/exceeds the minimum/recommended requirements for it to run the game.
So, the issue I am having is when I use the installer downloaded from my battle.net account, I go to install, it starts, then jumps from around 3% complete to 24% complete, landing on "world.mpq" and waits for roughly 2 minutes. Then windows pops up it's box-o'-doom saying that it has stopped functioning, yadayada. I dug around the net for solutions and could find nothing that I didn't already try for the most part. Running as admin and such, checking for left over files from previous install(never been installed on comp), so on and so forth.
Anyway just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if they could propose any solutions that they may have run across when trying to resolve their own. Short of having to torrent the full install, which while doable, I would rather not. 10+gig torrent....Not fun.s
Thanks for any help if any can be provided!

Do you have any of the CD's, and have you tried installing from those?

Hmmm not sure I may have one of the original install discs laying around under a box or something....May try digging around for it. Just wish their installer didn't have damn issues. Could have it all done by the time I was done at work haha.

No dice. Blizzard have removed the Burning Crusade download and made them all into one huge download. I never did have a BC disc since I had done a digital download for it. Nothing is allowing this installer to run. I guess I just won't go back to giving Blizzard my 15$/month *Shrug*. Cause I'm not giving the company another 20$ for me to get BC again when I already own it. It's pocket change, but it's just stupid for me to pay for something I already own. Just sad that such a small thing is stopping me from enjoying this game again.
