I exclusively play Payload, and occasionally (grudgingly) Egypt and Dustbowl when the server I'm on switches to a CP map.
I like the rhythmic style of play. The pushes and counter-pushes. You can SEE a well placed sniper bullet or chain-stab completely turn one into the other.

I love me 5 CP maps. That's a tug of war where those pushes really go into play. :D Mostly, I just find it daunting when payload maps have you defend for 20 minutes >.< It's a little discouraging. But I love them all, except for Territory Control. (TC) Those maps suck T.T

You mean 20 minutes on the clock at one time? I don't think that can happen on PL. It caps you at 10 minutes per point. Now, Dustbowl on the other hand...

Yup. And every time it bumps the timer back up to ten minutes. I've had control point maps go for an hour or two. Half the time nobody is really trying, because they like just running around and killing guys without having to switch maps or sides.

I've been trying to get good at Degreaser + Reserve Shooter + Postal Pummeler Pyro today. I figure it's time to learn how to do something useful besides sticky spam and pee on EVERYTHING that moves.
The sound the Reserve Shooter makes is probably the most viscerally satisfying thing in TF2. It sounds like a goddamn cannon.

I've been trying to get good at Degreaser + Reserve Shooter + Postal Pummeler Pyro today. I figure it's time to learn how to do something useful besides sticky spam and pee on EVERYTHING that moves.

Oh hell yes. I love to just shoot it around when I can, on both my pyro and soldier. So amazing.
Also, I like the Axtinguisher more than the Pummeler, even though they're exactly the same. I think it's the barbed wire.

Balloon Race would be amazing idea if the game didn't continue for 10 minutes after it effectively ended. There needs to be some way to catch up, or to 'head them off at the pass' to use a cliche. But the first team that gets out of the hangar with five people on the balloon wins, end of story.
