Ok so for the spawning adds in Cho'gall, they are timed right with a tank swap. This means the tank that was just tanking cho'gall will go and pick up the adds. This should mean that you have around 10K vengance. DPS needs to still give you 4 seconds to find the add and pick it up.
There are still 2 tricks you can use to get a quick threat advantage.
- Threat on the boss shouldn't be a problem at this point, so when you know that add is coming out, save your avenger's shield. Having both Avenger's shield and judgement ready will give you a good post in threat.
- Stealing threat, is always a good way to boost your inicial threat. When the add spawns it will usually target a healer. Taunt before attacking. Taunting matches threat. This will be a 30K addition, to your 50K Avenger's shield and 20K judgement (talking threat numbers of course, not damage)
Taunting when someone is going to pull, is sometimes better than after they pull. The longer you keep the target on you, the easier its going to be to match threat.
All in all, your DPS should wait, except for who ever is helping you on interrupts. Its not like they can QQ about not having anything to DPS while they wait, simple tell them to stay on the boss until you have the add half way to the back, then switch and burn.
i am having trouble holding aggro in troll duns against single target(bosses) and mobs alike post 4.2.
Lack of MD's in 5 mans, make threat hard against high DPS. In these situations, its best to use your wings on the pull. Again, its better to taunt BEFORE someone pulls threat, rather than after. If your not getting hit, your not getting vengeance, and you won't be able to keep up with the threat. Never use and defencive CD's on the pull, especially not the new 20% block one.
Read these tips, hopefully some will help, but no mater what you do, CHANGE YOUR MENTALITY. The next time you go into a raid or a dungeon. Whisper to yourself "Scarier than I look, Scarier than I look" over and over. KNOW that your threat is amazing, and keep your rotation going. Thinking that your losing threat, will only keep your mind nervous and your rotation not fluid.
Be a boss!

I haven’t played at all for the past few weeks so I don’t know fully what 4.2 changed but looking at your stats you seem to be a little low on both expertise and hit rating
Not sure how much of a difference they really make now but you might want to maybe give them a top up

0 hit and only 10 expertise from the glyph, makes heroics harder no doubt, but it will come down to RNG, 20% of the time, your going to have trouble with starting threat because of misses, dodges and parry. Long term threat should not be effected, this is why progression tanks reforge all their threat stats away to survivability.
Personally I like having around 3% hit, I don't think its too much of a survivability decrease, and it helps me control interrupts in 5 mans much more effectively.
Back to the main issue here tho....
...the hunter also claims to be MDing targets to me but i dont see how if he is able to pull aggro off me in under 10 secs.
He isn't MDing properly. You should have vengeance going into an add, and if the hunter is MDing you, there should be no way DPS can pull off of you. Do you have world of logs for you attempts? You can double check after fights and see how many times he is casting Misdirection on you.
Another thing that I spotted, is that you are using 2 points in
Eye for an Eye. Its not really a tanking talent. I would definatly put the points into
. Having one more ranged attack means more threat as you run into range of your target, and extra threat after a ranged taunt.
exo doesnt make any sense for a tank IMO....
Mid battle, it wouldn't make much sense unless you were trying to get a bit more damage out, while a target was transitioning, and running away from you.
Exo can be used during a pull, but i find it more efficient to skip it, as the cast and GCD usually prevents you from getting in a 3 holy power SotR with the 12 seconds of inquisition.
DP-->Inq-->Wings+AV-->CS-->Judge-->CS-->Conq-->CS-->SotR If your lucky and don't have any misses, you'll be able to get the SotR in before Inq drops off. That is the best way to pull a boss if you have no MD's
