[Suggestion] Light theme for Wowhead?

So I notice, the occasional times I visit the Wowhead News site, that there's an option for a light theme or a dark theme over there. Wowhead itself
desperately
needs this. I would spend a lot more time on the site, but it's so hard to read light on dark for more than a few seconds, even worse with the green or blue on dark. It makes my eyes go all wonky, something that takes several minutes to clear up if I take the time to try and read through the most useful comments on something. I'm not trying to whine or anything, I just think this is something that's needed. I know enough about coding to know that it's mostly likely just a matter of providing another stylesheet with a light background and a dark font on all pages, too.

Considering that css handles basically all the coloring and layouts more or less, I am sure that there could be a light css edition with more bright colors. Can't say the framework isn't made to handle themes. ;)

Am I allowed to bump my own almost-a-year-old topic? Because I am. I'm trying to read a guide on bear tanking right now, and I'm not even halfway through it and have a headache and a little queasiness from reading light sans-serif font on a dark background. There's a reason 99% of books and newspaper/magazine content are dark on light, Wowhead.
Please
implement a site theme like you have on the news site. I use Firefox primarily, which gives me the "view page with no style" option, but if I have WoW open I don't want Firefox open too, so I use Chrome to check things (like Wowhead) while I have the game open. Chrome doesn't have such a function. It really wouldn't take much effort to do this. ;_;

Sure.

I'm sorry. =/ May I just remind you, and anyone else who is reading right now about the 20/20/20 rule. For every 20 minutes that you spend infront of your computer screen, you should take a break to look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. This helps the eyes refocus on a distance that is not your screen.
There's a reason 99% of books and newspaper/magazine content are dark on light, Wowhead.
I'm going to say that the reason ink is black and paper is white, is more because its easier/cheaper to print Black on white. It provides high contrast and longevity of the type face, while still being cost effective.
Please
implement a site theme like you have on the news site. It really wouldn't take much effort to do this. ;_; I can't say how much effort it would or would not take, but a post like this does bring it up to the admins. So thanks for bumping. They'll see it.
Cheers,

I think that Wowhead's colour-scheme is a big part of its identity. Also, I've not seen much demand for this over the years so I don't think anyone else is getting the queasiness you mention but, of course, if you get queasy while looking at the site you'll want a way to prevent that happening.
I suggest you look into tools like "Firebug". It was developed for Firefox but there are Chrome versions available too (all for free) and they allow you to alter the .css code of sites you view. This should allow you to make the changes you need without Wowhead having to weaken its strong identity.

@ somnomania:
You may be able to alleviate your specific problem with copy/paste. Put it into a word processor of your choice, and change it to whatever colour you fancy. Not perfect, but for reading a whole guide, it may well be superior. Just ctrl+a could also, maybe, help you.
I feel lucky I don't have problems reading here.

This thread is from *2009* and we don't have a light theme yet? Wowhead, please. I'm in the same boat as the OP and many commenters. Dark theme gives me an awful migraine. I get that enough people prefer dark theme that Facebook, deviantART, Apple, Discord, etc. thought it was worth the trouble to offer a dark mode and a light mode, but some of us experience actual physical pain when trying to read dark mode for more than a minute. (Someone upthread mentioned the 20/20/20 rule. No, it doesn't take me 20 minutes to get a headache looking at dark theme. It takes me ONE minute. I doubt I'd make it beyond ten without puking from the pain, let alone 20.)

I second the light mode if it is ever possible!

Just for clarification.. is the Thottbot Theme considered the new "light colored" theme? cause I clicked on it and won an achievement.
It's the only light theme we offer at this time. But it's only available on the Classic Era versions of the site.
