Getting the Dreadsteed on my Warlock. Some quests were actually difficult back then and quests chains were a little more elaborate.
Hands down my best moment in WoW was when my guild (at the time) and I downed Archimonde. Pre-nerf mind you. Weeks of trying, hours upon hours practicing and wiping and when we finally finished that bastard off, not only was I completely stoaked to see him dead, I won Tempest of Chaos on our first roll. Doesn't get much better than that. I miss raiding with those guys
Back when you could walk along mountains as long as you maintained altitude, getting up on top of the Ironforge mountain was possible. Seeing the flag up on top, the various stuff scattered around was really neat. As well as attempting (usually futilely) to teach guildies the trick to mountain-walking.Then, killing a few stat-less trolls fighting Ironforge guards, and managing to NOT die while taking a few controlled falls down the north face of the mountain. Did you know that the sign on those farms has always read "This way, That way, The other way"?
My favorite WoW moment is definitely my first Archimonde kill back in The Burning Crusade. We were one of two guilds on the server that could consistently kill Archimonde from that point on which was an awesome feeling. To this day Archimonde is my favorite boss encounter in all of WoW.
There are so many memorable moments... Lemme see....I remember the first guild I joined was the with the Winds of Fire on Silver Hand. My name was Gulgor; I was an orc; I was a hunter; and I was dirt poor all the time. I was even too poor to afford all of my abilities, ammo, and food. I was new; I was noob; I was fail. I felt so bad at my own ineptitude that I never told any of my guild-mates the extent of my poverty, though we all complained about not having enough money. So, I decided that I'd have to adapt, so I left some of my abilities behind. I believe at one point a few were more than five ranks out-of-date. I only focused on things like crowd control and strong, time-tested ranged abilities.I was in my late thirties to early forties, still just as poor as ever, nowhere near my basic mount, and running Zul'Farrak with some of my guildies. I believe the guild master was there with one of his alts, and we were about half-way through when I read the comment, "You know, Gulgor, you're a pretty good hunter." It continued on to say how well I use CC and my damage. After all the stuff I had gone through to try and pull this character out of the gutter, it felt so good to see something like that. After all these years, I have never forgotten those words of encouragement, even though they may have been off-hand.
My favorite moment in was back in the first year of WoW, I had a level 16 Troll hunter(my first character ever) and was in Silverpine Forrest. My friend who had been playing since the release of WoW was helping me do some quests and we came across a alliance gnome, we were on a pvp server and I had no real idea what pvp was. The gnome was so much higher in level that it was not possible for me to see what level he was. Everyone in the area was dancing with the gnome and my friend told me to attack the gnome, quoting "You can kill him, he is smaller then you". Me not knowing what pvp really was thought to myself: "yes, I Iromy the hunter could kill that small gnome". The moment I sent my pet to attack him he was on me and I died in one attack. For the next hour the gnome proceeded to camp my body and kill me with every attempt of mine to get away. My friend his brother and everyone in the room was laughing very hard at my dilemma. Lets just say that was the last time I took pvp advise from my friend, and judged a characters toughness on their size! To this day my buddy still tells this story to new guild members and others when on vent and its always a good laugh.
when blizzard did launche world of warcraft and i fell in love whit the game i loved the game play and on that day i sed im gonna play this game forever and here i am still playing the game ^^ i love world of warcraft!
My most memorable moment in WOW was shortly after joining my Guild at the beginning of WotLK. The guild itself was very open and friendly but there were often times during guild chats or raids where I often felt left out because of inside jokes or lack of player knowledge since most of the other guild members were veterans and I was the "new guy". One night I was invited to tag along on a Naxxramas run where the guild was working on Grobbulus. We were all in vent and our guild mistress was explaining the fight. I was told that as the tanks led the boss around the room the dps would stand in the center and lay waste. When anyone was targeted by the mutating injection our guild mistress would call out our name and we were to run to the alcove on the far left of the room that she called "the closet". Understanding the fight we began and during my first run half way through the fight I get the mutated injection and I here my guild mistress say "RUN FOR THE CLOSET" to which I replied over vent without even thinking, "I spent the better part of my life in the closet and I'M SURE AS HECK NOT GOING BACK", as my character ran for the alcove. The vent channel erupted in laughter as we wiped because everyone was laughing so hard. We joked, we laughed and best of all that night I gained the acceptance and companionship of my guild for who I was as a player and not the compiled stats of a character. Years later our guild grows stronger and that night is still talked about occasionally in merriment as one of our most memorable raid wipes. And that my friends is my most memorable moment.
My fav was the first raid my wife and I ever attended. My wife on her resto druid, and myself on my fury warrior. During boss fight the whole raid got hit with a huge knockback that killed all except 3 of us, the hunter feigned, i swapped to def stance and hit cd's while my wife who had been knocked to the other side of the room went kitty form, sprinted over to be in range and healed me through the last 2% of the boss, I couldnt believe how quick she reacted. Dead sexy.
Most of my memories date back to vanilla wow. I always remembered those 8hour-long Alterac Valley battlegrounds, those were definitely the memories I cherished most from wow. I remember entering a battleground at 10a.m. and next thing i know its already 2 in the afternoon, and everyone is still fighting in the middle of the map (field of strife). There were people removing insignias, running (or teleporting with their trinket) back to their side of the map to and in the various things that were needed for all the side quests. Once those side quests were completed, after some guys were handing in one quest after the other for about 2hours, huge advantages were given to your side, there were buffs but also huge creatures that were summoned..I was only around the age of 10 at that time..I was easily impressed, but every time I look back at Vanilla wow i can't help but miss those Alterac Valleys, they were truly legendary battles.
