I would say, Barrens. It's kind of odd but I have lots of memories from vanilla back in that desertland. I have some fond memories of me and a friend leveling there, and everytime we were there as small lvl 18ers there was this night elf female, lvl 47 ish always doing the /kiss /hug and /love emotes at us, stalking us. As proud hordies we always did /rude, but that nelf kept it going for a few weeks. Also remember when we were around 20, trying to kill the panther(?) near the lift in 1k needles, had to overcome the elevatorboss in the southernmost part of the barrens. that was fun.. the best part is that the quest was waay to highlevel for us, and it was recommended for a 5man if i remember correctly. The Crossroads raids were awesome aswell. Standing there like 40 hordes in a raid waiting, and then, boom. a full alliance raid charges at XR. It was fun hiding behind the "tent" and shooting arrows at them and even hiding in the watchtower to the north spying for allies xD.. Damn That felt noobish now that I think of it - but it was freaking fun, and thats what counts.I love every zone in different aspects, but Barrens is actually the oldest and longestliving one, From thunderaan in silithus, to trying to enter western plaguelands as lvl 10 undeads - Barrens was the best.
Zangarmarsh. Some might ask: What in the nine worlds is wrong with you to like THAT zone? Well, I always link interesting events ingame with memories of my surroundings or mental circumstances. With that being said, I managed to snag a key from a buddy for the Burning Crusade Beta. I levelled my shadow priest and did well. But there was this album from the norwegian singer Olve Eikemo, better known as Abbath of Immortal. He made his project "I" and released the album "Between two worlds".So there I was, way after midnight. Killing my way through countless mobs, experiencing the very first addon for World of Warcraft, being viable as a shadow priest, gasping in awe about the new world and in the background plays this lovely tune. Abbath roaring the seemingly melancholic lyrics to "Far beyond the quiet".Everytime I think of this moment, I get caught up with the feeling I felt that night and a few nights after. It was marvellous. I love Zangarmarsh for it.
My favorite zone is Stranglethorn Vale.I loved it when I first set foot in there, doing the nesingwary questline and later on discovering the goblins and booty bay
I must say that Durotar is my favorite zone mostly because of the Horde's presence and the feeling of the zone.

I have to say Paladin T2 Judgement, It is the best looking set out there, and I am working on getting all of it on my paladin :)
Definitely have to give this one to Grizzly Hills. The music here is great, and just the wide range of scenery that can be found is spectacular.
My favorite zone would have to be Icecrown. I know it was wrath, and many people tend to somewhat look down upon that expansion as a whole due to the end game when everything got a smidge boring, but I did love the zone.It wasn't like most zones; in Icecrown, if you tried to travel by foot (even though everyone flies since it's faster), you would be overwhelmed by undead. I loved that so much. It made me feel like the Scourge were really powerful and gave me a greater sense of the expansion as a whole, rather than easily killing them in dailies and making me feel like the Scourge were a joke.
Personally I think it is Un'Goro Crater. Back then I was a noob and seeing a giant T-Rex made me go OMGWTFBBQ. :PPlus, you know, It's a jungle with a volcane in the middle of it. How could one possibly beat that?
My favorite zone in the game was the old full Barrens. Not for the chat but because you could spend days leveling in one zone. It felt epic spending 15 levels in one zone and still having quests left over.
I really like Sholazar Basin because it has River's Heart. I go here to just relax sometimes.. It's very tropical and beautiful.
I'd have to go with Sholazar Basin. I love jungle-themed zones and between the questing and the rare spawn hunting, Scholazar comes out on top over Nagrand and STV for me.
vanilla Mulgore. there was just something amazing about the Native American theme and the open plains and blue skies. I could have spent hours in Bloodhoof Village, and then the whole world opened up before my eyes. But Mulgore is home.
I have always liked Stranglethorn Vale for the first introduction to Emmet Nesingwary.
I really like Duskwood. It has cool atmosphere and I met my best friend in that zone. Always felt really awesome taking down Stiches with a bunch of people back in the day.
The new Thousand Needles. The original was so boring to quest through, but post-shattering it's an absolute blast.
