From first flight path, to first fishing pole; from gathering insane amounts of Stranglekelp for the opening of the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj, to gathering annoying amounts of pearls to make a level 10 sword; from the beginning to the end of The Tower of Althalaxx quest; to my first instance lead-in; having found every quest and every rare spawn in the zone, and called it home on my first character, my eighth and main character, some more between and more thereafter... my first steps into it after the Cataclysm brought a wave of grief over me. Though I'd been far beyond into the depths of Outland, Northrend, and everywhere else, the first thing I did with my main character after the Cataclysm hit was head home via boat and claim a hippogryph ride out to the new outpost of Lor'danel, to stem the tide of disaster that hit my cherished Darkshore.I cried profusely through the new experience - I saw so many familiar people, dead and dying, witnessing their last breaths, hearing their last words - I used to know where they all were, what they did, what they sold, what they said... The new music melded appropriately with the somber mood of mourning and reminiscing, while the reclamation of the zone and discovery of forces new and old brought some solace. And, at last, I stood at the edge of the forest and saw the signature sunset of Darkshore, the orange glowing through the dark, misty sky, and was comforted that some things will always go on.Darkshore has held special significance for me since near the beginning of my WoW experience, and it always will. The mood of it has changed slightly, but is enriched by it; it still holds a "zone mood" very well and contains as many or more lore hints as/than it did before. Further, for those who did experience the previous Darkshore, the new experience is even richer. To be a little more specific about what makes me like the zone: love the mood of the gloomy forest, the long, peninsular nature of the place, the variety of creatures, the variety of quests and interactions, the abundance of all nodes (especially considering the total absence of copper on Teldrassil). It was the first place I encountered fishing schools after they were introduced, come to think of it. And it was my "buffer zone" for getting used to a pvp server, when I began to play on one. Perhaps my heart might belong to another zone if I had more nostalgia for them, but although I love many zones, Darkshore is my favorite.

My favorite zone is Eversong. It's a really beautiful zone that also has a lot of story woven in to discover just be exploring it.
Has to be Arathi Highlands. Stromgarde was my favorite nation in the warcraft 2 game, and even though the city is in ruins what's left over still brings me back.
My favorite zone is Barrens before Cata because it was amazing to get from 11 to around 27 or 28. It was a fun zone to level through way back in the day.
Pre-Cata Eastern Plaguelands. It was like walking through parts of Warcraft III, and seeing what had become of the world.
The new Redridge Mountains would have to be my favourite. No other zone feels like it has a continuous story on quite the same level as that one.
My favorite zone would have to be Vashj'ir for quite a few different reasons. One of the main reasons is just for it being completely different from every other zone, since it's underwater and all. The quest line throughout the zone is very fun with the change of pace switching into naga form for certain quest and back again, also the plain fact that you get to own and ride a seahorse just screams of epic adventures to be had in this underwater paradise. The addition of a few none water quest where you go into the demo gods and are not forced to swim through your entire experience in the zone helps relief those few adventures that don't quite enjoy the underwater aspect fully. Although there are quite a few wonderful zones in the game, I would have to say Vashj'ir is by far one of the best designed and throughly thought out zones in the game. and if all of that doesn't make you want to explore the deep blue, don't forget ghost crawler lurks in this zone and you can get your just and fair redemption on him by either taming him if your lucky enough to be playing a hunter at the time or just slaughtering him till your heart is content for any wrong doings he has committed to your class; real or imagined.
By far favorite zone is Nagrand in the Outlands, so much fun exploring the nooks and crannies, finding easter eggs hidden in the mountains, having levitate contests off the top of floating islands. So much fun. :)
My Favorite Zone is Nagrand. If it was in M:TG it would produce white/blue mana. It was a shock to see an area so alive after suffering through Hellfire the first time. For added fun, try to find the highest point you can jump off (no slow fall or similar) and not die.
Probably just due to memories associated with the "good 'ole days" of world pvp at Tarren Mill, but I'm gonna have to go with Hillsbrad Foothills.
You know. It's hard to pick just one zone/region. If I had to pick one, I'd have to say Howling Fjord. I've always enjoyed the ability to fly. Flying in Outland was cool, to be sure. But I never got a true sense of joy with flying until I got the privilege, with Cold Weather Flying, to fly in Howling Fjord. Something about those seaside cliffs with the chain-driven elevators, the icebergs, the mountains to the north.... It really lent a sense of vista that I never quite got from flying around in Outland. I grew up in Nova Scotia and fondly recall the road trip we took when I was a kid along the Cabot Trail. Howling Fjords brings back that same sense of wonder and joy to me.
It would have to be Deepholm hands down for me. It has the most awesome clash of grey and vibrant color that I have ever seen. Also I'm convinced Therazane is the equivalent to a mob boss, who doesn't like being a bad guy once in a while? To put the cherry on the cake, it has the most prettyfull heroic ever made. As you can tell I am very much a ohhh shiny! kinda person. :)
My favorite zone as is without a doubt Icecrown. Having played WCIII:TFT and knowing how much lore went into the story of the Lich King, it was thoroughly epic playing through the Icecrown zone, seeing events that lead up to the culmination of two entire expansions' worth of content into a climactic final showdown with the fallen paladin himself. New allies appearing after taking back the Shadow Vault from the Scourge, finally seeing exactly what happened to a certain Dreadlord, and a proving grounds rising up in the Argent Tournament to further prepare us to take the fight to the Lich King's very steps, among many other memorable quests, help make this my favorite zone in all of WoW.
My favorite is the Deeprun Tram. I love the little details in the 'aquarium' like the Deeprun Diver down near the shipwreck. And I always try to spot Nessy when I head down there. (Yes, she's still in after the shattering.)
