I still stand by my earlier post. I use the forums to post in blogs now.
You could reverse it back to the old blog, and see if it changes anything, just for like, a 3 days or so.

Sometimes after reading it all I don't always post a comment :S (shuns self) I don't really know why I don't but yeah the doing other things while reading it is a possible reason to attribute for this. As Interest said there was just a new content patch. People want to read about the new stuff then get back to doing the new stuff. They don't always leave a comment in the middle.

Announcements are just too boring for me lately. We've known about 4.1's features forever. I don't have a caster, so no importance about the staff to me. Guides kill the whole point of the game in my opinion. Blizzcast is boring. I don't care for PST or anything like that. Etc.
Back before Cataclysm, all the news was exciting and rare. Look at WoW general front page. There's 21 announcements on this page alone.

I dunno. The 4.2 announcements came during that period but haven't gotten much attention.

We've known about 4.2 for a while now. Firelands is nothing new as we've been expecting it for a long time. I just read over the Thrall quest as well, and while it is exciting, it's not very important to me as I don't enjoy raiding.

Have you looked at your history of patches? In my opinion, this may sound basic, but people are just playing the game more because of the new patch.
I still look here for information and news, but I am much less likely to read through a thread with 8 pages of comments and get involved in a debate or discussion right now, there are new things to do in the game! In a few weeks when I am done with some things ingame, I will come back and forum pvp more.

I dunno. I found the new Legendary staff's lore release and raid instance overview and the like quite exciting...

Generally speaking, I don't really ever post much on the blogs. Now, when we get another blog telling us that the winged lion mount is available in the Blizzard store, I'll probably celebrate a little and I posted on the new Legendary staff, but that's about it.
It also seems like a lot of the people on Wowhead don't actually play WoW currently. Dunno if that's always been the case, but that could certainly contribute to people not posting about WoW news
.
You are absolutely correct. I can't make up statistics, but most of the forum-goers are ex-WoW players. This could result in a lack of interest in the blogs.
This is just for Off-Topic
, but still.

can't say that I even noticed that you could comment on the new page, plus pretty much all the info I need is already on the forums or the DB; what use is a 3rd commenting spot? is it aimed at non-forum goers? or what?
ps - i did like the 'in-depth-boss-strategies-for-zulaman-and-zulgurub', but only because the DB hadn't had enough comments to be useful (well, it may have now, but I know the fights already).
The blog shares comments with the forums--the post you see on the forums reappears on the blog, they are the same post =)

Just by looking at the comments section, I can see how it might be off-putting. The layout is hard on my eyes, and it's straining to read the comments.

doesn't change the fact that people reading the blog
on the blog site
might not be posting.

Because even if we've got suggestions for improvement, nothing is done. So what's the point?

Why would somebody be reading an auxiliary site to Wowhead, which was only announced on the forums/frontpage, instead of being on the forums which have been around for a few years?

Right, new theory:
Someone said above that there's been alot of news-posts lately. Like several-a-day-alot. When there'd be like a few posts per week, people would get much more excited and post comment(s) on the posts in question. Now, there might just be too many. People read them and move on. Today, for example, we've had 3 in 6 hours. While that may not seem like an overwhelming amount, imagine logging onto Wowhead in the evening and seeing 3 new posts. If you're not a frequent poster, you might just not post on all of 'em.

I read most of previous posts...
My perception of the wowheadnews.com site...
It seems very nice and polished, but I'm lost in the pretty. I prefer the stripped down look of how the blog/news was prior to the change. It seemed more in line with the design of the main site....
HOWEVER
I just did a quick zoom out of the page and adjusted its level to fit horizontal and I like it much more now. For some reason it has always loaded at the width set by the article and not the additional sidebar. Not sure why, but now I like the page more now that its not so big.
Large things scare me...
Edit: also this v

I am really confused (and admittedly hurt) by this comment. We listen to a lot of suggestions; many of our features, in fact, come from user suggestions. The anvil search we added last month, the new mount categories, the forum guides I'm working hard to create a system for...
Have you left feedback that was constructive and detailed that has been ignored? Please tell me what it was so I can rectify that. =/

I'll bet a good number of people go to the "News" link on the front of the site, and make comments on the "articles" without ever knowing about or visiting these forums.
