Lexus HS250h
I believe I heard somewhere that hybrids are actually
worse
for the environment than pure petrol engines. Something to do with the processes involved in manufacturing the battery.
Still, nice Lexus is nice.

Without looking into it I am pretty sure that was only true when the Toyota Prius first launched, I am pretty sure that problem has since been fixed, Could be wrong on that but im pretty sure I read somewhere that the batteries are no longer made the way they were.

It's with pretty much all hybrids. Ironically, it's better for the environment to drive an older gas guzzler truck for something like 500,000 miles before it equals the carbon footprint of your typical hybrid.
It sounds ridiculous, but think of it this way; the old trucks carbon footprint from manufacturing is much smaller, and also is already done and gone from years ago, whereas the Prius is being newly created with a much, much larger carbon footprint due to the intense manufacturing process of the batteries and large electric motors.
Take the batteries of the Prius for an example. The nickel in the NiMH batteries is mined in Ontario, Canada, then sent to the U.K. for refining, then to China for further refining, then to Japan to be assembled, then to Toyota manufacturing plants in Japan or in the U.S. to be put into cars. That's a huge amount of energy spent just transporting the batteries, let alone the carbon emissions used to actually manufacturing them. Then, after the vehicle has had it's life, there is an intense recycling process required to neutralize the pollutants from the battery, producing more emissions.
Then lets take a 90's Ford F-150; according to Wikipedia, it's parts are 91% from North America and made of mostly recyclable materials. Plus, by buying one used, you are not adding another vehicles-worth of manufacturing emissions, just standard driving emissions.
Simplified:
Old truck
= small footprint that's already there, meaning the only polution you're adding is from fuel consumption over time.
New hybrid
= creating a new, much larger footprint, plus fuel consumption over time.
I'm doing more for the environment driving my 13 mpg Jeep than if I were to buy a new hybrid.

Basically for a small carbon footprint, you're best off buying a Hyundai Getz or something.
Not taking away from the fact that Krypter owns a schmick Lexus though.

Hybrids are just a waste in general IMO. You can buy a
Fiesta
for $13k and get 40 mpg's, or you can pay $10k more for a
Prius
that gets 51 mpg. That would take more than 5 times the lifetime of the battery to make up the difference in price for those mpg's.
Plus you can actually have some fun driving the Fiesta...
(Or secret option #3, get a 300+ hp Mustang and get 30 mpg's, I know which I would choose...)

No pics of my whip sorry. I was a ford mechanic for about 6 years. I have a 1969 ford mustang coupe. I replaced the 302 with a 351 cleavland. Msd ignition and hooker headers. I replaced the stock c4 trans with a truck c4 including shift kit and mild stall converter. unfortunatly I don't have a place to work on it now so its in storage till I buy my next house. Then I'm hoping to take the entire thing apart and restore the body. Its so expensive and such a long process. I'm hoping its done before my kids 16th birthday.

I love old ford and chevy pickups, very nice ;) I know of a 55 chevy pickup around where I live where the guy got it painted matt black, but this is a very professional job and it just looks amazing, and when he pops that hood and you see nothing but chrome everywhere it makes it a hell of a lot nicer.
A matt black Subaru Impreza STi
this is basically what I want my impreza to look like, so awesome.

Matte black is so pretty. I remember seeing
this picture
years ago and having an orgasm.
A guy on my street has a brand new STI that he vinyl coated matte black. It's gorgeous.

The other day, I saw a guy driving a pickup that was "painted" in spray-on bed liner. It's was fugly as hell.

That can actually be pretty damn handy and if done right, doesn't look all that bad.
I bedlined the interior of my last jeep.
As for the outside, I wouldn't do it for a street vehicle, but a dedicated trail rig, it's way too handy to worry about the looks.
