I just watched Captain America...
I know it's Hollywood, but so much wasted potential.
What happened to the Nazi's? More importantly, what happened to the ability for Capt. A to sympathize with his enemies? The Doctor talks about Germany for about 1/2 a minute and after that it's all about the big bad. He was just killing Stormtroopers, they never gave them any life or personality. All of the characters were ridiculously shallow, to the point of hilarity. I almost laughed when his friend died simply because the character was so unhuman I couldn't feel anything for him. And he was mourned for all of three seconds! Red Skull could've had some backstory, nope, he was just insane. That's how it was. By the way, I'm gonna throw around a bunch of names from Nordic Mythology and make it magical but also science. Why couldn't he just have had a freaking nuke? How was the steroids at all related to the Aesir/Vanir? It wasn't? It was just metaphor? Then why were the lasers related? It just didn't make sense.
I understand it was for the kids, but I think the markings of a really great Superhero movie are the ones that can entertain the kids, but have a separate level of depth for everyone else to enjoy. The effects and sound-track and such were great, but the writing was
horrible.

I finally saw Captain America, I actualy thought it was quite good. I understand the people saying it was rushed, but I think that the reason people might be getting that impression is because they are looking at it like a stand alone movie, when its more like part of a series. One should see Iron Man and Thor before watching this, and most of all think of it as what it is, a prequel to The Avengers.
Speaking of The Avengers, they finaly released a trailer with real footage at the end of the movie, looks pretty good. My one complaint is that you saw Iron Man, Cap, Hawkeye, lots of Thore, but no Hulk! My guess is they havnt shot enough of his footage yet. Cant wait for this movie, not sure what Im more excited about, this or the new Nolan batman movie!

So, went to the see the Smurfs tonight with my girlfriend; she had free movie tickets and a free evening, and that was the only thing showing we'd both be willing to see.....for a movie based on an old cartoon....It actually wasn't that horrible. The best parts were Gargamel and Azerial though, and more the cat then the wizard; that thing was hilarious. Though, the smurfs got some good lines here and there.....and so much swearing heh, with smurf'ing acting as the bleep.

You know after watching Fight Club and Inglorious Basterds back to back, I have come to the conclusion that Brad Pitt is actualy a pretty damn awesome actor

Well, watched the 2009 Nightmare on Elm Street remake last night. It really wasn't scary at all, no real "holy %^&*" moments for me just nodding when the scares were supposed to happen. Not a bad movie, though, had a number of moments which I thought were well done and Jakie Earl Hardy's Freddy isn't that hard to get used to. The worst thing about him I thought was they made him look like an actual burn victem (or at least tried), something about it just seemed odd to me but I liked they took that route even if the final product wasn't all too good. He at least transitions some back to the "Jester of death" he had been in the original movies near the end of it.
All in all, it was pretty good. Didn't have the nightmare-inducing effects I'd been hoping for, though.

Our Idiot Brother was much better than I thought it would be. I thought it was going to be "THE JOKES FUNNY BECAUSE IT'S ABOUT WEED" but it's actually a much classier type of comedy. It's about a lovable loving hippie who gets dragged into the intricate politics of the social spider-web and how it ends up.

My favourite film is "In the Heat of the Night". I wasn't actually looking forward to going through a lot of old movies that I
had to watch
, but as soon as I saw it I realised how much I loved it. I really liked "A Man for All Seasons" as well from around the same time.

Best video game movies are still the original Mortal Kombat, yes it was corny as all hell, but for a fun action kung fu movie it was great....and the Shang Tsung actor was awesome, the first two Resident Evil movies, Silent Hill(almost as creepy as the games). The worst....yeah, pretty much anything that's not any of the them lol.

I am so sick to !@#$ing death of 3D movies, at best its an annoying gimic that ups the price of your ticket and at worst they specificly cater to 3D scenes with their coreographey (people spending too much time pointing weapons at the screen ect.) and there are not as many showings to see if you dont like it because the 3D versions fill up over half the time slots. Nevermind that half the movies comming out now if its the third in a series try and work the words 3D into their title, making it even more a gimic than it already it.
Only movie I think 3D would have added to that much was Bruno, and thats just because I wanna see how many old ladies get a heart attack seeing a big old 3D cock comming out of the screen at them.
