Heroic Grim Batol, Drahga. I refuse to ever go there again.
I was there for three hours on Drahga alone, went through four groups. Basically went, tank pulled person didn't run from fixating add, healer couldn't keep up, wipe. Yelling all over, rinse and repeat a few times, everybody rage quit, I teleport out and queue up again.
Then the same thing on Erudax because nobody was helping me on the adds, and I was just a lone shadow priest barely within the gear requirements to queue for the place. I admit I wasn't reforged/gemmed/or even probably specced right, but come on. How much could it hurt to try something new if you have wiped 8 times doing the same thing every time? (like say, do what somebody suggests that has been there before?)
Is your Shadow Priest by any chance Alliance? Pretty recently I went more serious with my Alliance alts on a different server, and this is what I have experienced,
- Alliance lack more people compare to Horde
- Either by being undergeared or being more newb/noob, generally(note this part), Alliance players seem to under-perform more compare to Horde
- Alliance players seem to be more humane compare to Horde
Like I said, this is the
general conclucion I have come up with. Hope any Alliance/Horde not get offended by it.
Playing with my Alliance toon, I have experienced boss mechanics that I didn't even know/notice it existed. I came back in the patch 4.2 after a long break so I have never experienced/knew
Commander Ulthok's
Dark Fissure expand as the time goes. Of course I must have noticed it when I was playing Horde, but never did I distinctively notice fissure expanding so big. Didn't wipe and no death though. Just lack of dps (I'm guilty of it also just like
tuesdayisgrey's case)
Never did I fear
Corla, Herald of Twilight encouter, nor did I imagine myself getting the add transformed (I was the tank but I always volunteer myself to block the center add). More time in killing the boss, more room for error, which resulting in me making a mistake like blocking the beam before my debuff expires. One mistake, boom, transformed add. Now I'm more conscious of the encounter and actually more afraid that I might make a mistake.
If someone makes a newby/nooby mistake, there is a high chance that they'll get less-kind complaint as Horde. As Alliance, compassionate advice/counsel. One Alliance was kind of happy/impressed that our group killed
Ozruk without much difficulty, saying that the day before his group was wiping on him for 3 hours. *gasp* 3 hours on Ozruk, in patch 4.3? That's un-imaginable for me.
edit: oh yeah. I forgot to mention that the satisfaction you get after clearing those dungeon as Alliance is un-matched than that of Horde. Even if the group's dps is horrible, the fact that we work together for the same goal, following the original, intended tactic of the boss encounter and downing it, man, I can almost feel how people would have felt when clearing those heroic dungeons in patch 4.0.6.
