Rane sagged to his knees, giving in to his pain and sobbing. He did cling onto the joy Argona had created - all the while knowing that it was hers, and thus hating her, and Alec, and himself.
The sith clung on.

Imagine, if you will, a room filled with caustic, tart smoke. A crystal ball is floating in the middle of it. The smoke is trying to dissolve the glass, and every so often a bolt of lightning flashes out of nowhere and into the transparent barrier, behind which there is the only place free of the smoke. The glass regenerates itself, but each time it does a scream of pain is heard.
Eventually, all of a sudden the sphere is surrounded by a halo of white-hot flames. They spread and grow slowly, burning through the smoke and leaving literally nothing behind.
The image that I am trying to draw has, of course, close to nothing to do with what is happening inside the sith's head, but it may or may not help you understand.

Rane laughed hoarsely and bitterly.
I don't have Lord of the Sun to sleep with to become whole, you know.

It all became clear now, and if Rane had a mouth, he would have been smiling now. The sith regained his composure, and slowly became unreadable emotion-wise.
Find mine...
Oh yes.
He sat where he was cross-legged and sunk into a restorative meditation.

"I somehow don't envision that working..." Olet noted. "And besides, Sasha seemed so excited about it all."

Olet gave Zeke a light brain duster. "You should just stick to being cute, jokes aren't your forte."

Mephisto
Netherstorm - Manaforge B'naar
The blood elf warrior slowly backed off with the spearhead under his chin.
- "What is in this for you?", the soldier asked.
- "Power", Mephisto shrugged.
With a fast move Mephisto moved close to the elf and grabbed him by the throat. As the man's right eye began glowing brighter the blood elf quickly dried into a mummy. He dropped the corpse and as he did that his eye caught the blade of the elf.
- "He won't be needing this anymore", Mephisto thought as he removed the belt to which the blade and the sheat were tied to. It was a slender, sabre-like blade with minimal decorations - considering the usual blood elven craft. The man tied the belt to his waste and proceeded towards the manaforge's center.
Mephisto eyed the massive pipe-systems. Energy flowed through it and towards the Tempest Keep. The man looked for a slightly smaller pipe on a fitting height. When he found a one he liked, the man gave it a couple light pokes with his spear to test the strenght of the pipe.
Mephisto nodded thoughtfully and thrust the spear through the pipe and into the energy stream. He closed his eyes as the spear began vibrating and the gem below the head seemed to burst aflame, so bright was the glow in it.
After only a few seconds Mephisto had to pull the spear out. He breathed heavily for the intensity of the energy was something he did not expect. The man walked out of the manaforge, not casting his eyes to the corpses that lay here and there on the floor or leaning to the walls.
Back in Area 52, he went to his room in the inn. The man sat by a table and staired into a mirror. His image seemed to have changed again. In the left eye a slight red spark could be seen already.
Mephisto sat and staired.
