i look forward to seeing what you come up with, if your previous work is an indication of anything, im sure itll blow what ive attempted here out of the water. that said, i hope you dont make this a priority over your tanking guide :)
Its almost done now. Just adding a couple of finishing touchs and things to expand on.
Cheers,

That's why we have the beautiful feature of quoting.
The template is short and neat, even if every single reply in the thread quotes a filled-in template. It won't take up much space, just look for your template or the template you're replying to and it won't be that hard.
Having a consolidated thread for all of the rate my pally threads is an awesome idea, i toyed with the idea a couple of weeks back when someone posted their armory and asked others to post theirs. But seeing as the OP didn't answer to my request of stealing his idea, I left it to die.
Also it's faster to skimmer through a page of replies looking for something interesting than to jump in and out of 20 threads.

Quoting can get ugly. 1 post quoting multiple threads that are being talked about at the same time. 1 post that talks about one persons paladin stuck in the middle of a lot of posts about another persons paladin. Advice getting lost because people don't check for a couple of days and a new page gets pushed to the front?

As for a consolidated list
of posts
, I did put that post in my thread where we can add links to tops that followed the template and got answers for what they were looking for.
As for the idea of people linking their armories, most of the people that post here make their account and link their characters in either their profiles or have them listed in the character tab. If people don't do that, can we really except them to find a thread on these forums where they will specifically link them?
Also it's faster to skimmer through a page of replies looking for something interesting than to jump in and out of 20 threads. *shrug* if thats your preference sure. I rather go into the threads that have titles that apply to me, and then check them later if there has been a new post.

You just put 3 different quotes in your reply, didn't look all that ugly to me.
Have you been in the off-topic thread lately? I know you've posted there but I'm doubting it was actually you that posted it. Seeing as it has averaged 2 posts per hour since it was created, and people are still managing to have conversations in there,
without
quotes.
That simple fact proves you incredibly wrong about this being bad.
So you're gonna be active all of the time linking each of the new posts and removing the ones that has already been answered. Who are you to decide which posts deserve the most attention?
God that's the stupidest thing I've heard today.
First of all, just because it sais "Armory" doesn't mean you have to link your armory there you can just as well use the wowhead tool.
Secondly, in your thread which is oh-so-much-better, you specifically direct people to the armory rather than the wowhead tool.
Thirdly, you're pathetic and hoarding gold achievements in my opinion.
That part is a bit harsh I'll admit, but to be honest right now that's what you're coming across as, making two threads in under a week that you're assuming will get stickied. One of them being a ripoff of this thread and the flamebait thread.
Instead of massing out threads which in some cases are quite redundant (we don't need many stickies we need good ones) complete the ones you start and make sure they're kept in good shape before you create a new one. Cause to be honest, your history doesn't scream of commitment to the guides you make.
I've been working on an advanced holy thread for about 6 months now (cata kinda forced me to remake it -.-), it's not even half finished but I'm more than a few weeks away from putting it anywhere near these forums.

Hi, I'm a holy paladin, and I'm getting into some serious rated battlegrounds.
Issue:
I'm told that I should get more resilence (I only have 3.6k atm), and I don't believe my spec is right for rated battlegrounds.

Additional comments:
I don't have any mana problems when healing flag carriers but CC is a huge problem for me.

And I will quote a lot in this one too, doesn't mean I like it, just means its the best option, to get a point across.

Without quotes? 99 replies right now in the off topic post of these forums, 70+ of those replies use quotes. I'm confused? Do you think multiple people use my account?
That simple fact proves you incredibly wrong about this being bad.
Does it? What fact? If your trying to say that quoting within a thread can work, I'm not disagreeing with you. But to consolodate everything in to one post. Its like saying, "why does wowhead even have sections for classes?" we should just have 1 forum where people can post whatever they want, and you can "skim through it" to see what pops up. Its ordered, its nice, don't mess with something that works. Everyone should post their questions in new threads. Again, bad ones will get pushed down, good ones will get pushed up, and the mods will take care of the rest.
So you're gonna be active all of the time linking each of the new posts and removing the ones that has already been answered. Who are you to decide which posts deserve the most attention? I'm going to be as active as I can be. It has been more lately because i have falling in love with the forums again. Who am i? As much as you don't want to admit it, I'm like you. Way more focused on the paladin section of wowhead, but I'm just a guy that on the whole likes to help people.
God that's the stupidest thing I've heard today.
Thats 1st time your insulting me.
First of all, just because it sais "Armory" doesn't mean you have to link your armory there you can just as well use the wowhead tool. Thats a good edit. If you are reading this karathos consider changing the following:
--------
Armory: "LINK HERE"
Armory: Visit
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/
and find your character and link it to us.
Change to:
Character: "LINK HERE"
Character:: Use the
Wowhead Profiler
or the
Battle.net Armory
to find your character and link it to us.
Secondly, in your thread which is oh-so-much-better, you specifically direct people to the armory rather than the wowhead tool. Its a blizzard tool. Its the official tool, Its what the wowhead profiler and every other website that has armory features uses. And "oh-so-much-better" My thread is different than this one, I think thats clear, its ment to be just a template for NEW posts. Check your tone, thats the 2nd time you insult me.
Good thing you used strike out text, defiantly less harsh now.
Getting a gold achivment for having a thread sticked would be awesome. Is it part of my motivation? Yes, am I trying to horde? Honestly I don't think so. I clearly pointed out, in another thread, that some of the other class threads don't have Off-topic stickes in there. Thats an easy 4 golds. In about 10 minutes of work im sure you could find stuff in other class forums that is missing from the rest and get another couple of golds. I post what I think will help. If I get a gold for it, all the better
Guess what. Havn't reported these last two threads of mine as stickies to the admins.
I was defiering to you.
And am totally ok with them not getting their yet because they are both not finished.
A ripoff of the flamebait thread? The first 3 points in that thread are about
preventing useless posts.
My thread not only LINKS it, but recommends it before
asking a new question.
3rd time you have insulted me
Instead of massing out threads which in some cases are quite redundant (we don't need many stickies we need good ones) complete the ones you start and make sure they're kept in good shape before you create a new one. Yup, your right, I wanted to start a cata heroic tanking guide, but the way I envision it in my mind is just too much work. So I didn't even post a framework for it. My old WotLK tanking guide. I only was able to complete 3 instances. Again, a TON of work to finish it, and real life caught up with me. Thats around the time i took a break from these forums for a bit. You sticked it anyways back in the day. And I had a bunch of people tell me it helped them, especially in OCC
I've been working on an advanced holy thread for about 6 months now (cata kinda forced me to remake it -.-), it's not even half finished but I'm more than a few weeks away from putting it anywhere near these forums.
Can you post a temporary versions of it? With 6 months of work I'm sure you have some sections that people would defiantly find helpful, even if its not 100% complete.
All in all svirve, I don't know what I did to offend you, or why you have such a general distaste for me or my posts. In my opinion, I have done nothing but to try and help people on these forums, especially the tanks that come here to ask questions and get valid feedback.
I'm not asking you to like me, I'm not asking you to stop debating me when you think something I say is wrong or of poor taste. All I'm asking you to do, is to treat me with some decency when you do it.
Cheers,
Hat
as to the rest of both your posts and svirve's posts: stop sniping. honestly its not productive and is completely derailing this thread. please make your peace with one another and just move on. hell, i dont care if you make your peace, just please do it out of a thread trying to help the player base. Sorry. And trying to make peace, also wanted to defend myself a bit. I wish private messages existed for exactly this reason. I'm done. Thanks for the edit karathos.

Sorry khorrupt but i don't know nearly enough about PvP in cata to comment but one thing I do know is that you won't get much more resilience without going in to rated arena/battlegrounds so that's the best you can do if you do need more.
CC is always going to be an issue, the only thing we have to break it (on ourselves) is bubble and the PvP trinket. And you should always save those for as long as possible to not use them in unnecessary situations.

You can also break stuff that breaks on damage with Hand of Sacrifice, it just takes some prediction.

This is why I stopped discussing SoI with you hatman, you deflect and stupify anything I say.
Then you made it about me saying WoG being bad and now you're making it about me "insulting" you. A truth is a truth no matter how insulting it is.
For that reason I'm going to stop this discussion as well.
Final word of advice though, if you spent half the time on your own guide that you do on others you would've finished each one of them and they would've been twice as good. Your devotion to your content lasts no longer than a cockfight.

Spec:
Holy Paladin
Introduction:
I mostly heal 5 man heroics.
Issue:
I don't really have any problems, but I'm curious as to what my next VP purchase should be - a cloak, a ring, or the boots. His current rings are sub-optimal, I know that, but
Ring of Frozen Rain
and
Band of Life Energy
don't want to drop for me.
Armory:
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/lothar/joslo/advanced
Additional comments:
I really don't have mana problems unless people start trying to faceroll instances with undergeared or stupid tanks and I have to start throwing around FoL.

I'll throw my Paladin into the mix.
Spec:
Holy
Introduction:
Having been prot/ret for the longest time, I decided to give healing a try. So, here it is.
Issue:
No major issues, but I thought I'd post to get the thread rolling. Rarely have mana issues; I've learnt that spamming Flash of Light isn't that great. Holy Light is used most of the time, Divine Light to bring a tank back up.
I only ever run out of mana when the group goes crazy and starts doing stupid things (the tank pulls whole groups in less-than-ideal conditions, a squishier damage-dealer goes nuts with threat, etc). Then my mind screams at me to not let anyone die, so cooldowns get popped and the heals start flying. We usually make it out alive.
Character:
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/shadowsong/epoch/
Additional comments:
If a ring slot is empty when you check, then it's the
Ring of the Boy Emperor
which was mailed to an alt.
I often use Hand spells when needed (Protection on casters, or even melee in dire need), Sacrifice when the tank starts pulling to reduce initial damage, Freedom when expecting fear, etc.
