Actually I think that's a characteristic of NRL fans in general. Everyone has a very tribal, one-eyed attitude towards their team. Which is what a team wants from their fans really.

Not entirely. Tribal one-eyed attitudes, yes. However, a lot of NRL fans do tend to be fickle - linked to players, coaches, or even just off-field events that occur. I dunno, despite knowing a lot of other people who've changed allegiances, I've never met an Eels fan who was anything but an Eels fan.

Hmm, I've never encountered that personally, although I'm sure there are some around. Sure, plenty of people will begin to follow their local team when they move to a new town (except when said town is Sydney), but when push comes to shove, they still favour their traditional team. I'll buy a Broncos membership, for example, but when the Bulldogs come up here I'll wear blue and white.

That is true, Knights fans are passionate. That being said, I think they may have thrown it all away for being sell-outs if someone like Frank Lowy came in and bought the club instead of Tinkler. At least Tinkler's heavily invested in the Newcastle region.
But fair enough.

I never know what to tip for the first 3 rounds. Also, how awesome is it that the McIntyre System was dumped?

You are trying to balance what they did last year, with team changes, but I also try to ignore trial form, because they run so many players on and off that it is not a true guide of where they are at...
Yeah trials mean nothing.

So I just signed up for a team! Souths Sunnybank. I live on the northside so it's a good 35 minute train ride from work and then 45 home afterwards, but I'm just happy to be back on the field again. Haven't played for like 4 and a half years.

Well, I turned up with every intention of playing second row. Looked like there were 6 guys who wanted to play second row and 1 who wanted to play centre. Being the new guy, I thought I'd do the right thing and put my hand up for centre. Hopefully as I bulk up throughout the year, I'll get a move into the back row.

That is quite true. Either way, I feel more comfortable on the second row or even in front row. I just like being closer to the middle of the field.

I don't care that the Knights lost, but I do care that the Dragons didn't lose.
Oh, also, I tipped the Knights.
