Ah ok, yeah I imagine that could be expensive to implement. How do they do it in cricket?

may be more difficult to implement in a game that isnt as vertical

Also, that system is camera-based, which would be harder to do in rugby league because there are at least 28 people on the field at any time, obscuring the ball (26 players, 2 refs, plus trainers).
I was thinking maybe having a tracking device inside the ball, although that presents its own set of problems, such as how durable it would have to be to be able to handle the battering that a ball gets, not to mention that a large percentage of balls get kicked into the crowd.

It's possible. They've got sensors that determine if a ball has crossed the goal line in soccer, even if the technology isn't used in the WC.

It's a lot harder to monitor an entire field to see if a pass was forward or a ball was knocked on though, compared to simply checking if it crossed a line.

Yeah, there'd be limitations.
The easiest way would just be to install more cameras at grounds, to solve each problem one by one.
The big problem, though, is that you play at so many different grounds. International cricket (i.e. where Hawkeye is used) only gets played at one or two grounds per state, maximum. It's not economically feasiable to do it.

Hawkeye is used in Tennis as well though. Wimbledon has 19 tournament courts, other events would be smaller but still have multiple courts.
Of course, tennis is worth a lot more money than rugby league.

Hawkeye is only used on the main courts in tennis tournaments. For example, in Melbourne, it's only used on Rod Laver Arena, Hisense Arena and Margaret Court Arena.

4/8.
I didn't watch the game, for some reason I forgot there was one on tonight. Apparently it was pretty bad.

I only saw the 2nd half.
We played really solid in defense, they only got a try off a couple of very questionable passes.

I was stuck at work, but I'll be happy to take 2/8.

Rough round was rough. Top scorer in my tipping comp got 5/8.

Bulldogs, Tigers, Knights, Warriors, Sharks, Queensland
Currently running 4th in my tipping comp, 2 correct tips off the leader.

That's pretty close, nice.
Let's see if I can turn this around, eh?
Bulldogs, Tigers, Rabbitohs, Roosters, Eels, Queensland. I don't care how much computer gear Joey's picked up before the match.

Joey: unbelievable player, mediocre coach. In fact I think there's really only 3 good coaches in rugby league at the moment. Bennett (obviously), Gould, and Bellamy.

Not Des? The man that turned Manly from the Northern Eagles (lol last on the ladder) to 40 nil premiers?

Yeah, okay, him too.
