Did anyone else here go?
I went to the Sydney show (yesterday), and apart from Slayer being canceled, I was very happy with what I saw. One of the best lineups I've ever seen, and
most
of the bands played fantastic sets.
I caught the end of Sum 41 (not bad),
most of Bullet for My Valentine (surprisingly good after their atrocious effort at BDO 2010),
most of All That Remains (fantastic),
most of Murderdolls (also pretty good),
Primus (amazing!),
Dimmu Borgir (also amazing, playing in Australia for the first time and they really played their arses off),
wandered off for a bit when Ill Nino started, but enjoyed the end of their set,
since Slayer was canceled I checked out the end of 30 Seconds to Mars (terrible, easily the worst act I saw all day),
watched the first half of One Day As a Lion (pretty solid),
all of Kylesa's set (effin fantastic, best set of the day),
wandered over to QOTSA, wasn't feeling the vibe, despite being in the D, so I went and watched Rob Zombie instead, who was surprisingly good, since I'm not a huge fan of his,
then finished the day with Iron Maiden's full set, which was great - a good mix of old and new stuff, a really cool stage show and a lot of good energy.
I can only find Brisbane videos on Youtube at the moment, when people start uploading some Sydney ones I'll put some in here.

But that's the only thing that makes me jelly of aussies so it's ok, I like living above water.
Pretty sure I'm elevated from the closest body of water by about 10 metres, just saying.

I think where I'm living is like, what, 10,000 feet above sea level?
Edit: My bad, the mean is only 6,100 feet. Lowest point is 2000 feet above sea level, highest is 13k feet. Yes, I use feet. SUCK IT!

Americans and your illogical measurements. :P
Well I like being 5 minutes drive from the beach. And so do 98% of Australians.

It's ironic, because we didn't build our cities below sea level like some other hurricane ravaged cities....
Granted, we built a few of ours on flood plains. But eh, that's life.
@ donny - not really a fan of the live bands. Call me old or something, but it's all a bit much for me.

I'm sure if the original settlers knew what we do now about the ecology of this place, the entire population would live West of the Great Dividing Range, with the East Coast used purely for agriculture. But eh.
And I'd already figured you were a pretty reserved kind of guy Squish.

I think I caught the last 2 songs of their set, and it was pretty much just Jared Leto running around wearing an Indian headdress, rambling on about sh*t, while some randoms were standing up on the stage dancing. I didn't even see any of the other band members (if there even are any?).

A lot of people say they stole the show from Tool. I disagree, only because Tool is one of my all-time OMGWTFBBQ bands, but they were damn good.
