Shields are our bread and butter the more you can spam the better imo
You sir, give good the rest of us Priests a bad name. It's idiots like you that keep getting disc nerfed! Blizz says "We don't want you to shield spam" so if idiots like you keep doing it they will keep nerfing us to the point where people will just not take disc priests to a raid. Again.
Take your shield spam and go play Dora the Explorer's Happy Fun Time or something more suited to your intellect.

Relax, most discipline priests do it. They won't soon. I don't want this thread locked as its actually giving really great feedback at the moment.

Sorry but I don't theorycraft. Don't really see the point considering how fast things are changing at the moment.
There are times, specific boss mechanics, when shield spam is effective, and it *may* be worth switching to IW. But only if your shield can sustain the loss of the added absorb. IF would give you stronger shields, and in certain cases that might be more useful if the mechanic you are trying to counter is high damage. So both have their place, but IF is inherently more useful than IW because IF effects all our spells, and IW doesn't.

I would not recommend a priest of any spec to drop below 2400 spirit at the raiding level. >_>

Actually, in certain circumstances they do count as instant casts. Example being Penance and borrowed time, which is where i got the assumption from. If you feel like going in game and testing it all, go ahead. i have far more important things to do with my time. It won't be utterly ground breaking if i get it wrong, nobody will cry over the fact that maybe it isn't classed as instant.
so go ahead and cite any source to whichever thing you would like. This ins't EJ and we don't HAVE to do it with broad questions such as "Do channeled spells count as instant cast?"
