Looter/Profiler Should *NOT* "Forget" Recipes

I believe there is an underlying factor behind the problems I've recently been having with the Looter and the Profler -- specifically, you (Wowhead) programmed them to "forget" recipes, by overwriting any previously existing data with any new data.
Within WoW itself, a toon can forget (un-learn) one or both of his Professions (presumably, in order to learn some other Profession as a replacement), but he can NOT un-learn any of the Secondary Skills (i.e. Cooking or First Aid). Furthermore, if such a character re-learns one of the previously forgotten Professions, he will still know any of the previously learned recipes within that Profession.
However, if I understand the progamming logic you are using for the Looter and Profiler, you are discarding any previously downloaded recipe data in favor of whatever data is within the most recent download. The problem with this is, whenever there is a bug in the Looter or Profiler preventing these more recent downloads from being complete, we (the users) are losing some of our data.
As a suggestion, I'd recommend adjusting the underlying programming logic to merely APPEND (i.e. add to) any previously downloaded list of recipes known, instead of using a total replacement.
Thanks! ;-)

This needs to be addressed, please.
I just checked my primary jewelcrafter, and your Profiler says she knows only FIVE (5!) JC recipes:

No. Frakkin'. Way. >:-(
And, YES, I HAVE been in the habit of opening every frakkin' skill window, every frakkin' time I log into any of my toons.

This
still
needs to be addressed.
Now, you're telling me that my primary scribe knows
only four (4)
Inscription recipes... >:-(

happens with enchanting also. ive learned all the ones from the shard vendor in dalaran and am collecting enough maelstrom crystals to get the ones in twilgith highlands but it keeps telling me i dont know them.
a good addon ive used in the past is this - Ackis Recipe List
it helps with finding the stupid and really annoying recipes and sorts the list into rep, quests, vendor and mob/zone drops

Which I already have, and already use, when I'm logged
into
WoW and logged
into
the specific character in question. ;-) (Thanks, nonetheless.)
But this thread I started is for checking any and all characters' recipes, while
not
logged into WoW (i.e. while
offline
), and all at the same time, via the Profiler.

Recipes are no longer gathered by the Wowhead Looter, and are instead retrieved from the WoW Armory via available API. I would assume that we opted not to have it simply append in the case that a user un-learned one of their primary professions. It was not coded to selectively choose which data to replace or append to existing data, so it chooses to overwrite entirely. Yes, you can't unlearn cooking, but Bob of Earthen Ring may be deleted and someone else may make a character named Bob on that server, and the new Bob might hate Cooking. He'd get pretty mad if every time he uploaded the site was convinced he was a Cook. :)
If you are missing recipes still it is most likely an issue on Blizzard's end and the API is not properly retrieving some spells.

Aha! OK, I see that point. ;-) However... In such a case, all I'd have to do would be to click on the Profiler's "reset" link for that character's data.

So now, this topic is just a moot point, right? ;-)
Thanks, nonetheless, for the info! Much appreciated! :-)
