I get how it zings Aestu, but how does it zing me?
I read the past tense "had" as implying you no longer have friends. ;)
But that doesn't really fit the context. I've always understood zingers to draw a faulty but relevant conclusion from what someone said.

Of course Aestu won't; your suppose to be able to read his mind over the interwebz and know exactly what he is going on about.

I hate having to read posts multiple times in order to understand it.
Have you been gaming since Super Mario Brothers 3?
Yes: You are hard core
No: You are a n00b

And of course not all people my age subscribe to all my opinions.
And the Understatement of the Year award goes to.... Aestu!
As for actual content, I was with you up until you started trying to relate things to WoW. I was with you, getting ready to discuss game theory differences between older and younger generations of gamers. And then you launched into your standard Anti-Blizzard rhetoric about how the game sucks now.
It's tired and old. Start a blog and get some subscribers, I think Wowhead's getting pretty tired of it.

He does have
a blog
. He just copies and pastes what he posts here and sticks in on there.

How is it that you know of that?
I like to keep tabs on my arch-enemies, of course.

Lol, I promise I'll only stalk you nicely. Besides, you're only #49 on my arch-enemy list.

I appreciate that some of you people might not be fond of Aestu due to his posting history or whatever your reasoning may be, but I don't see that his OP was in violation of any of the Wowhead policies. I, for one, am interested in actually hearing
from him
what his point was, and all you guys seem to be able to do is come up with rather snide and presumptuous remarks, which is against Wowhead policies. With all due respect, let's either wait for him to respond (regardless of whether this will or won't happen - I am aware that Aestu sometimes leaves a thread and never returns) and take the snide remarks to the Recycle Bin thread. I'm interested in what he has to say, and whether you like it or not, you guys are the only reason that a thread of this nature would be locked. Can we please just hold off getting this thread locked until he responds or a reasonable amount of time passes? I would appreciate it.
This person actually has a very valid point.
Folks, stay on topic please. You don't have to like Aestu, but that doesn't mean you should turn this thread into a discussion about him rather than the one he started. =/

And I think others of us had valid points, none of which he's answered. So, what is the topic if he has no aim for it?
It's quite obvious to me that all he wants to do is stir the pot, whether it's a valid issue or not. If he really cares about the issue and cleaning up his image after having been temp banned, I would think there would be more effort on his part. I for one don't have any benefit of the doubt left.

This is perhaps the funniest response you could have made to that revelation.
Pretty much this.
Either way Aestu, the point of this thread has soared above everyone. Bring it back down for us, please?

Today in WoW, we consider it questionable at least if such a great percentage didn't do X content.
There's your problem.
We
don't consider it questionable,
you
do.
I've got friends who just level alts. I have friends who just PvP. I have friends who just PvE. I have friends who just run level 70 stuff. No one but you seems to have any problems with that.
That aside, you picked out one "classic" game that happened to be "open world." I can do that with modern games too: Minecraft. Open-world is just one game mechanic among many. Game never have and never will confine themselves to a single mechanic like that. There will always be divergence.
