read more. they shifted the damage form ice lance to frostbolt. So cast frostbolt more, and you will be fine.

No, frost mages were definitely nerfed. If they wanted us to cast frostbolt more, they shouldn't have made it so hard to get a chance ot cast it.
Take a warrior. He's gonna charge you, and charge you, and charge you. You aren't gonna have 2 seconds to stand still and cast, and even if you did, frostbolt crits maybe 1 to 2k more than ice lance for me. Not to mention that if I'm deepfreezing a melee target, its almost always to get away from him while doing damage.
Now look at a rogue. Sure, if you have early frost, you may get one or two casts off, then he's on you. You're gonna have to move. If they had buffed frostbolt and nerfed ice lance less, it would have been better. Now, when I used ot get 40k shatter combos on a no resil target with afrostbolt icelance combo, I get like 30k.

If you, as a frost mage, are complaining about warriors in a pvp scenario because your ice lance does 1-2k less damage, you suck.. LOL..

Arms lost one charge, and if you get to combat before fury charges, it's one less charge to worry about too.
Sounds to me that someone needs to learn a bit more.
not to mention that the cone of cold talent adds one more defenite freeze, then back in wrath.
coupled with Frost nova, Pet freeze, and the ice barrier breaking freeze, that adds up to 4 ways to keep someone in place(ignoring DF). There is also cold snap to add 3 out those 4 freezes back into your arsenal.
The arms warrior has a trinket, and blade storm to break roots, and they have one charge to counter the distance after the root. That adds up to 3 ways to counter your 4 roots.
If you are dealing dmg to break the warrior out of the root too early, you can end up trading dmg too often with the warrior.
However, if there is a reliable defensive dispeller on the arms warrior team, I can imagine the frost mage being at an unfair disadvantage to any melee dpser.

Dont take this wrong way, but you clearly have alot to learn about frost mage pvp, if your trying to tell us that YOU as a FROST MAGE dont have enough time to cast spells against melee "You aint be doin' it da right way mon". I Suggest watching pvp videos of high end mages and reading up how they are doing it, we are more than fine at the moment, probobly as balanced as its ever been.

Very detailed and helpful advice there. The issues isn't that I can't have time to cast spells, it's that I don't have nearly as much time to do damage as I did before. I still blow $%^& up in PvP. It's just a lot harder to do it.
I have to say though, I find healer teams difficult in 2s. I face a fury warrior holy pally team the other day, and I spent the entirety of the match trying to peel him off my disc priest partner.We lost eventually because I couldn't get him more than 3 seconds without the fury warrior pounding on him. Charge, intercept, intercept, heroic leap, intercept, intercept, heroic leap. He did nothing but close the gap and beat on my healer, and I couldn't do ^&*! to stop it.

Fingers of Frost, DF paladin into sheep, control warrior. Ample time for priest to mosey over to paladin and fear off sheep, and dot warrior.
You literally just keep DFing the paladin into sheep+fear, and eventually the warrior dies, or the paladin bubbles and you can kill him in a swap easily.

Try being a Fire mage using Fireball, then you may complain about that. Casting Fireball all day is okay, but the rare occasion I use Frostblot, it makes me go, "Wow! This is a fast cast!"
hehehe. leveling a mage myself as fire atm, farming BG because it's fun like hell as mage.
Tryed out frost for a while and frost bolt was almost like Scorch but did more damage!
And when i activated Ice veins.... omg everything felt like it was instant!
