The PVP Learning Curve

So upon leveling my lock to 85 I took a break to level my priest but now I'm back! I'm still ridden with greens but I've started collecting my honor pvp gear (because I'm no where near able to do arena). My question is what spec are you guys finding most viable to learn pvp? I'm starting aff to keep mobile because I can get almost 4 shotted by any good geared warrior, but what spec allows the easiest learning curve right now? Right now each spec seems reasonable viable but I wanted some other opinions.

This. If you get focused on, you'll go down fast regardless of your spec. Each spec has its own tricks (CoEx, Shadowfury, HoG, ...).
You could also respec every few BGs while grinding your gear to get a feel for all of them and to see which one suits you best.
If tailor-crafted PvP armor is cheap on your realm's AH, go buy that first (but be careful not to buy items with spirit on em :p).

just do arena for 5 wins each week, it's idiotic to pass on the the free epics. you're not the only one who just dinged 85 on an a char and just starts gearing up. don't worry you won't meet a gladiator but a novice just like yourself.
destruction works in bg, as soon as you get some rating in arena your immolate will be dispelled right away and your dmg plummets. i wouldn't advice the spec
Demo is probably the easiest to start with, you pop everything and hope something dies if not you die.
affliction has always been a viable pvp spec if not the best and probably will remain so. so if you have long term plans this probably is your best bet. Also you're more then an one trick pony which is basicly demo.
edit: ofc you should just try everything out especially in bg everything works. also destruction shadowfury can be a life safer against the warrior situation you described.
And if you have some gold then buy the tailor pvp set it's well worth your money as it safes a lot of frustration from being roflstomped by a nub you know you could have beaten if he hadn't killed you in one stun

I don't think you know much about demo. Ive been playing demo regularly since bc, and its always been somewhat viable, some patches more than others. Even if you take meta off your bars and play without it (which is good for practice) it's still uber powerful in the right hands.
That said, afflic is pretty good. Personally I don't like the lack of burst. Its fun if you have a healer friend in your pocket, but alone in a bg its tricky. Very little escape.

Hey guys, its been a little bit since my op and I decided to try destro. I didn't really like the lack of burst from affliction, and against high res opponents it felt like I was doing nothing.
So heres my character now:

Ive noticed I have a real problem with enhancement shamans, and well geared death knights. Any suggestions. Also I usually roll with the succubus because I like the extra cc and whiplash comes in handy in places like towers in Alterac valley or lumber mill. :) But with enh it seems like I can never escape. When they pop wolves I usually Shadowfury and howl of terror, but that only buys me a little time. And I'm not sure where to begin with dk's. They pop lichborne and become immune to fear.
Also a sidenote, I've been having people be immune to my chaos bolt (pally's bubble, mage's Iceblock?) I thought it used to pierce through all effects. When was this changed?
Thanks,
Shettle

Chaos Bolt pierces through absorption effects, like Power Word:Shield from priests. Pally bubble and Iceblock are immunity effects.

they way i learnt pvp was on my lock with different specs was. (this is all pre cata i havnt played since release)
affliction - ~I'd leveled as it so i would have been crap at anything else, once i got good i tried demo to see what a more powerful demon could do, I loved demo as pvp i thoguht it was a load of fun but last expansion it was just not good enough to cut it. This expansion it's the baws!.
then i tried destro, which isn't particularly hard, but, because it relies on standing and casting you have to learn to fear more so you can stop and cast. instead of afflcitio0n was slowwing them dotting them and keeping yourself away from them, you are now trying to keep them away from you (if you egt what i mean).
But still learning to warlock pvp just consists of learning "What button to press and when to do what"
Which is like lesson number one. Once you know all this you can improve on movement etc (which is very important fora warlock.( you dont want to be running from someone and not realise you are running at more of the other team)
Anyway GL mate.
