Magmaw and hunter pets

So the lava parasites for Magmaw. Last night I saw a lock Felguard use his pet to tank the lava parasites. I was in charge of dropping the ice trap where the pillar was coming up. The Felguard had the parasites nicely lined up in a circle around it and it didn't seem to get infected by those parasites.
So my question is. does this apply to hunter pets as well? I could use my turtle pet to tank all the parasites while everyone aoe's them down. Should make killing them much easier if they are all in one spot. If our hunter pets do get infected though, this won't work.
Thoughts?

Frost DKs with Chillblains are the absolute best kiters for that fight. We have our Blood DK tank go Frost for that fight and just Howling Blast, while I throw a frost trap and an MD+Multi-Shot every now and then.

The question is still up. Has anyone tested if hunter pets are also not affected by the stuff the worms do yet or not? I would tend to believe they are not, as they are labeled as "pets" like the Felguard, but who knows for sure.
Aside from that, I read and hear many pros and cons about kiting or burning the adds. It kind of comes down to the composition of your raid, when looking at how which people did the fight.
THANK YOU! this might help me next week when the patch goes live and I go BM.
