"bo-kaam!" has got to be one of the strangest onomatopoeias I've seen.

pelf
What language is that?
Here's another one for you: وشوش
It's the Arabic verb "to susurrate" (also used for "to whisper"). It is pronounced "washwasha". Sounds like fabric rustling.
EDIT
: It's not "wash" like American English or British English wash. It's more like "wush". The vowel 'u' has a specific meaning in Arabic transliteration, though, so it has to be written "wash".

No idea, I read it in Maunotavast's signature.
I've also been looking through
this page
. Some great stuff in there.

Nice.
I was just talking about "LOL" with the friend I'm learning Arabic from. Arabic verbs are usually tri-consonantal (e.g. d-r-s "to study", k-t-l "to kill"). "LOL" fits perfectly as l-w-l (w and o are very close in Arabic). So, I could conjugate it like that.
أنا ألْوَلُ
That's "ana 'alwaloo" phonetically, sort of. For the imaginary verb that would mean "I laugh out loud". I thought that was pretty clever.

Can you guys see this?
I'm not sure if direct links work for draft-status guides. If you can, tell me if you think I should code-color the macros like I sort of have in there. I started doing it, but it's almost too busy looking. I'm wondering if I should bother.
Also, if you can see it, feedback on the other stuff I'm experimenting with would be nice, too.

Nope:Guide #894
This guide doesn't exist.

Dammit. How am I supposed to get feedback on something nobody can see.
EDIT
: Okay, here are two screenshots. You can see the syntax coloring scheme I'm playing with. Also, every API call is Mage blue with a tooltip showing a short function signature (returns, parameters). Each also has a wiki-style link to the API section which links out to wowprogramming.com.

In this one, you can see the expanded Lua form. In both you can see the yellow text I'm using for placeholders. In this one, you can see the tooltip information I'm giving on what is expected to go there.

So, look at those and tell me what you think, if you would
:)
.
For reference, the scheme is:
slash-command < Death Knight Red
command-conditionals < Warlock Purple
keywords < Shaman Blue
strings < Poor Quality Gray
spell-or-API-function < Mage Blue
replacement-placeholder < Rogue Yellow
comment < Skill Level Green

I can't comment on the color scheme, but I think you should ditch the annotations in the General Form tab so that they're more readily copy-able.

Yeah, I had been using the Example tab as the non-annotated one, but I guess the General Form would be better.
Why can't you comment on the color scheme? What about the tooltips idea? C'mon HF.

HighFive
Because I am color-deaf (this is a term I just made up. It's like being tone-deaf but for colors). I can't say I like the colors you have right now, but I have no idea what would be better. (I can't live without color-coded code, but I've never ever used anything but the default colors)
Maybe some of the UI veterans can weigh in.
As for the tooltips, I like them in both cases.

Well, I was definitely starting with what the code coloring conventions are in most of the editors I use. Keywords are usually blue. That's a pretty common one. The rest is kind of up for grabs.
I'll just work on this off and on. Other people, when you read this, let me know what you think.

Sitting outside watching the kids play with sidewalk chalk and listening to my dogs bark at every damned person who walks by. Just picked a crusty one out of my right nostril and flicked at the dog, like he'd ever know or something. Should be reading my economics text instead of posting on Wowhead with my eyes half open. 70 degrees and sunny with a light breeze. The only thing missing is a Budweiser. And a steak. And something naked.

Are you a writer?
Post by
TheReal
lol, no. Well, sort of. Was there something "writer-ish" about that post?
I do sell some written materials, but usually things in the 3-5 pages category, if you get my drift.
Post by
HighFive
I thought you were quoting something until I read "Wowhead". Iunno.

It has really nice rhythm.
Here: your face is inside out. A naked lie. Does that count?

That's a bold-faced lie.

Naked lies don't count. I'm actually surprised no one tried to link me to lemonparty or something else equally shocking.
And please, PLEASE remember that it's impossible to unsee stuff. Google words in this post at your own risk. Better yet, don't Google anything in this post. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then consider yourself lucky.
