Holy OoMs very quickly. If you can survive, Disc is usually better due to its longetivity.
Don't forget about 4.0.6's buffs, in which Inner Focus acts as a shorter length/cooldown version of Aura Mastery with the replacing of spell knockback for Dispel immunity (a better trade, I should say). A 4-second undispellable Hand of Freedom is really great, especially if your teammates help with CCing whoever's on you (which they should if they're competent). In addition to that, you can reduce the duration of Weakend Soul by an incredible
four
seconds for every Flash Heal/Greater Heal.

Discipline is definitely more mana-friendly than Holy; not only have I personally tried both specs, but the general consensus of Priests in AJ also agree (Holy's survivability is far better, but it OoMs much, much faster). The only way to keep up is if you are able to get drinks in very often or, for whatever reason, they never switch to your partner and force you to heal him rather than try and chase a kiting Priest.
It's not just an undispellable shield. You're ignoring the very important pummel/interrupt/silence-resistant portion of it. Heck, you can even cast
Mind Control
uninterrupted (and with some haste, given Borrowed Time). That, or force them to blow a CC when they don't want to use it. A worry-free Shield + Penance + Greater Heal is an awesome thing for being under a minute cooldown. Tell me that isn't much needed against a comp like, say, TSG. Add on top of that a powerful Penance and a Weakened Soul reduced by Flash Heal, and you've got some solid buffs. And wouldn't Disc fare better against Dispel teams (especially with Inner Focus)? Body and Soul is a magic effect, you know.
As for Holy receiving buffs, I'm not sure if it really outweighs the
nerfs
that Holy is getting hit by. Chastise will break on damage and have an increased cooldown (ouch). Holy's already horrendous-for-PVP mana regen is getting further nerfed (reasonable for PVE where Holy is a raid healer king, not so much for PVP where some mooncloth pieces don't even have spirit).
On the topic of the new Glyph of Desperation: Unlike Pain Suppression, Guardian Spirit isn't worth anything until you're already low in health or if someone else/Lightwell is healing you. Smart teams will simply kill the Lightwell while you are CC'd (cause killing a Blessed Resilience'd + Lightwelled Priest isn't happening easily). PS while stunned is always helpful; GS while stunned is a bit more situational.
The Chakra changes are nice and will probably make Revelations worth getting (just maybe, because 15%+ healing on Renew/ProM while still being able to use Chastise is still good). Lightwell HP is nice. Cheetah + Hand of Freedom is nice. But mana and being trained after Body and Soul wears off will still suck.
You should really notice a huge difference in mana when BG'ing as Holy and then as Disc. Holy's problem is that single-target healing is simply just too expensive (even with sexy Serendipity) and doesn't really have as suitable tools for mana regen or conservation as Disc does. In a rated BG, you'll sometimes be doing massive battles like 10v10 with as many as 4+ healers. You really want to last as long as you can because, even if you have the best kiting and self-survivability, you'll still have to end up healing others and will OoM far faster than, say, a Paladin or (lol) a Disc Priest. And if you run off to drink, your team is basically a healer short for a good long time.
