What you want to watch for and consider are patterns of behaviour...
What you describe sounds like a whole lot of guild drama, and self-destructive tendencies amongst at least some of your original guild's leadership.
Co-gms disagreeing resulting in the erasing of the guild doesn't really look good on anyone with "authority" involved.
Unless guild drama is what attracts you to the game (?) you might have to move on.
Good luck whatever you decide.

Not necessarily a result of drama. I once logged on to find everyone kicked from our guild because the GM wanted to keep it just for him and his close friends.
Just move on and find another guild.

He is the close friend though.
It sounds like he did a rage at people and shut the guild down because he was angry one night. The "idk" answer suggests that he's possibly a little ashamed and doesn't want to admit what he did / why he did it.
Find a more level-headed GM.

The answer "IDK"=kid/teenager=impulsive reaction?
Just form your own guild...nothing like being your own boss :)
