What's the best way to use a freeze trap in an instance ?
With the trap launcher, and camouflage, we now have several ways to set up a freezing trap.
How is it usually done by experienced folks ?

Like Xarbokk said - MD the tank, then trap launch your freezing trap onto the target. For pulls (like in Vortex Pinnacle with the anti-CC zones) where you must pull the mobs towards you before the trap, you can place the trap in between you and the mob and then pull the mob by MDing and then shooting it.
Also echoing that it is very important that you tell the group to let you handle pulls. Even if you have another person CCing (a mage using polymorph, for example), almost every other kind of CC can be used on a moving mob, while it is very difficult to trap a mob that's already been pulled unless it's a stationary caster. The only CC that should be applied before you trap is a sap, if that's being used as well.

An important thing to note is that when Wyvern Sting wears off, it places a short DoT on the target that will break Ice Trap, so if you
have
to trap a previously stung target, place the Ice Trap at your feet and pull the target towards you with a Distracting Shot. By the time the mob gets to you, the DoT will have worn off and the mob won't be broken out of CC accidentally.
If I'm the only player in a group that can reliably CC, I will usually begin by marking two targets for CC: one for Ice Trap and the other for Wyvern Sting. Then, when the tank is ready, I target the mob I'm going to Sting, set up Misdirection, trigger Trap Launcher and shoot an Ice Trap at the other CC target. While the Ice Trap is still flying through the air I immediately put Wyvern Sting on the mob I had targeted, and then proceed to attack a different mob.
You may want to use Camouflage in situations where it's not very easy to tell from a distance where exactly the mobs are. All the floating enemies in Vortex Pinnacle, for instance, make it hard to see exactly where on the ground you have to place your trap, which is where getting in close might come in handy.
Lastly, Survival hunters get a 100% Lock and Load proc chance from Ice Trap, so using Ice Trap on every cooldown to get a free Lock and Load proc can be a very nice advanced tactic if you can pull it off without messing up your normal rotation. If you are going to do it, I recommend doing it between target switches so you lose minimal DPS.
