Pre-Lifebloom Resto Druid Advice Needed

I'm newly dual-specced into resto and I'm learning to heal in lower-level classic instances. Now, I know that people are saying the ideal way to heal is to stack lifebloom on the tank, etc., but I need some advice on how to heal before level 64.
Right now I basically keep firing Regrowth at the tank and drop on swift mend every so often as the tank gets lower on health or to provide general AoE heals . This works ok, but it very mana intensive as many people have said on this forum.
Is there a better way to do this? I could make Healing Touch the primary spell but the casting time is so long it's much more of a pain -- plus no Swiftmend. Any advice on how to play my level 50 resto druid in dungeons like Strat? (Other than "level to 64!" I'm working on it but I don't have tons of time.)
thanks guys!

My advice is to focus on Rejuvenation + Swiftmend and instead save Regrowth for OoC procs in order to achieve greater mana efficiency. Rejuv + Swiftmend should really be all you need to keep everyone going, saving your CDs for when #$%^ hits the fan (stupid tank/dps).
I've been feral/resto dual specced (no caster gear) since level 30 (now level 63) on my new Troll Druid and healing has been stupid easy so far with that combo. You should be able to take naps between Swiftmend cooldowns without having to worry about anyone dying.
Again, NO regrowth spamming pre-tree. It costs way too much mana. If you're using rejuv instead and your party members aren't
totally
incompetent then you should rarely have to worry about mana at all. The only time mana becomes an issue for me is when we're burning non-stop through trash pulls (just cast innervation and keep on keepin' on) or when someone does something stupid.
