Can't you bring up your ignore list, with him targeted, and use 'Ignore' from there?

Yeah. If you find his name again you can also do /ignore Huntard .

If you put in their name and server, you should be able to ignore even if they don't speak.

I was just in an
random instance
with a hunter that needed on everything, tailoring recipes,
cloth drops
, you name it...
I assume by random instance you mean LFD. It was my understanding that you were not allowed to need on items that were'nt for your class. (I.E a hunter cannot need on cloth drops)
I've been running in a lot of LFD groups lately getting my Warrior (protection) leveled up.
I can tell you from all the runs so far there are two classes I'm growing to really despise and that's the "Hunturd" & Paladin. The majority of them have been "Needing" every freaking thing (bop), plate, cloth, weapons their class can even arm-up with. So blizz's system for restricting need rolls on items seems to not be working.

Again Blizz overlooking things, although there has been an outcry about ninja problems since the start. Why would it be so difficult to incorporate a process already used in raids that label items with class restriction/priority. Add a pass button that would allow free roll if that player didn't need it and/or the class wasn't present and voila.
If that doesn't sound good then use the token system that list classes and the winner trades it in at the end or start of a dungeon to a vendor for gear or points if the gear is not needed.
If neither sound good then let Blizz resolve this issue once and for all, with a resolute solution.
Seriously, why is this still a problem?

Blizzard has done the thinking for us. We can only hang ourselves. Press the need button whenever it is possible.

In Vanilla you can need anything.

I don't know if they changed it for wrath or if it's just a bug well I was doing a heroic with my guildie who is a arms warrior and at the end of the dungeon he was able to need on cloth caster gear. 0_o
We are still confused as to how he was able to do so. lol

If you are on a guild run, then all rolls are open rolls.
