A year ago I'd have disagreed with you but now I actually think you may be right.

I just miss my friends. Every expansion I find myself with a new set of friends, and cata didn't seem to bring me any. I had a guild in TBC, set of friends there. Quit and rejoined in wrath to play with some Battlefield friends. They all quit mid wrath, but I got a new guild and made more friends.
Cata rolls around and all my old-new guild friends have quit and I find myself alone again. Perhaps the reason(s) I didn't make new friends this time around are the exact same reasons Ganimede speaks of. If you were just to ask me though, I have absolutely no idea why Cata just couldn't hold my interest. The questing is amazing, a ton of new achievements and overall a much more streamlined game... but for SOME reason I can't stay interested.
EDIT: This website reputation thingy is fun =P Now I am Fingulfin the Exalted both in-game and on wowhead xD

Exactly. Blizzard would, I'm sure, pay the person to figure it out a lot of money but it's beyond me too (and I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about MMO design).
What ganimede is saying isn't the biggest piece of the problem though. At the start of Cata my guild was very active. I never pugged or needed to have much contact with anyone outside the guild if I didn't want to.
We were all enthusiastic and looking forward to tackling new PvE content. Now you'll be lucky to see more than 2 people online outside raid nights and our raid time is down to 2 hours on a Thursday.
I'm sure the social thing is an important factor in the decline but there's something else going on.
(Btw, really cool to see you on the forum Fin.)(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

For
5.0
though... yes, ALL talents are being removed.
The question for all currently talent-based mechanics is; is the
mechanic
staying in?
...and to be honest it's probably safer to assume that mechanics that are currently tied to talents are going away unless we're told otherwise.
They're adding a new resource for each spec though "resource" is really hyperbole since the Destro one (at least) sounds like a simple stacking buff.
The important thing is that this is all 5.0 and a totally new expansion. Nothing particularly interesting is being done for 4.3 except for a little tweaking to current mechanics.
edit: to be clear, I'm saying that this isn't directly a reaction to Warlocks saying this is a stupid mechanic. It's a part of the overall changes that are going with the coming expansion. Doesn't feel like a win, just a change.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

Is there a point I should stop stacking haste? Currently I have 31.00% haste raidbuffed. 2706 rating. This rather depends on your spec (and other stats).

My current
gear
is pretty much like yours, I get 31% raid buffed haste, 22% crit chance (25% if a mage uses focus on me), and just a tad bit above the hit cap (17,15%).
My guess is that, since the next haste plateau (if you could call it that) is pretty far, and unless maybe unless you calculate to get a extra tick during eradication or Bloodlust/Heroism, maybe getting more haste won't do much.

Today on mmo-champion they had some info saying that in fact the imp. soulfire thing is going away :)

For 4.3?
I wish. I wish they'd make Incinerate do something cool too, like proc instant Soulfires.

After next weeks raid reset I should get my orange pixels (26 essences to go and we can easily clear 6/7 HC). Sure took long enough.
