Wewt, my raid group finally downed normal rags. Onto hardmodes!
So sad we couldn't down it prenerf, but it is what it is.
Congrats!

Oh no I think the gathering part isn't going to be hard, its just that I've lost 2 raids already due to real life events and a bad formatting of my laptop

Aw, mate that's gutting to hear, I'm really sorry.
Was there some drama or just that slow decline that sometimes happens?

Ah that's tough but it's always those base differences in goals and outlook that will fester until something happens.
My current guild was born out of a similar situation back near the end of tBC actually. In that case though we just wanted to step up to the casual-but-determined level of raiding (we aim to see and complete all the (normal) content before the next stuff comes out) from a guild whose leadership wanted to keep even that amount of raid organisation out of the guild.
These things feel awful at the time but given a bit of time and perspective it can come to be seen as the best thing that could have happened. Either way, I hope you and the people you're closest to in the guild can keep something together and find the fun again once the dust settles.

The game might be just a game, but the community you are in is very real.

I think I agree with Rekijan, the game itself is just a game, but the people you play with is what makes us play. I myself am enjoying my new guild a LOT, everyone is cool, fun, and even if it takes a while to kill some bosses, I enjoy the challenge, and the laughs until we get it down :)

Any thought that leads to Pink Floyd lyrics is one worth consideration ^_^
A change can be really good for people though I would say that, unless your current server is particularly low-pop, the difference from one server to another is very much exaggerated on forums like these. Aside from extremes most servers are very similar and perhaps the downturn you see on your server is actually game/region-wide.
Either way, good luck with it all. I'm looking forward to a big change soon too though almost our entire guild is on board now so it's not so daunting.
On another note, I just banned someone who made five accounts to troll the forum. Gotta give them credit for all that effort but you've got to wonder why...

Yeah, I'm on the last stage of the Legendary but it doesn't look like there'll be enough weeks to finish it before ToR releases and the amazing bit is that I honestly don't care >.<
I'm only glad that there really aren't any other casters in my main raid group who have been prevented from getting it by me going first.
I'm playing Rift more than WoW currently and I'll be happy enough to cancel both to play ToR. I can't put my finger on exactly what's happened but there's something missing from Cata that has made someone so invested in the game as me so turned off. I don't think it's the usual things that people complain about (too easy, too hard, too casual, too hardcore, Ghostcrawler sucks - /rolleyes) but I wish I knew what it was.
I don't want to be too down on the game though, there's a good chance that it is just me. I've been playing the whole time since 2004 after all.

There might be something to that actually. Warlocks have always been my main focus but I've levelled every class to 85. Warlocks, I got two to 85 so that one could have PvP specs.
One could argue that I spread myself too thin and ruined it for myself but then I wonder what made me level all those characters instead of focussing on a main (like I did in vanilla and tBC)? Was there less to do this expansion? I gave up 5mans very quickly in Cata because they really weren't fun, even with a purely guild-based group. But I really don't know why they weren't fun...
I'm babbling now >.<
