Weird, why? The less players on the field the better imo. It's best when I go in 3man group with pals and dominate the BG. Unfortunately that can't happen in IoC or AV... They're just raid instances.

Alliance typically gets out organised on my battlegroup in those smaller BGs. Gilneas seems to be the only one that we have an even chance on.
I agree in principle though, it's fun to go in a small group and have a real purpose (I was with a tank specced warrior and pally healer, capping and holding a flag for example) but it's miserable to feel that we only do well if the opposition happens to be terrible rather than feeling that you're actually good yourselves.
(I could be using the usual excuses that you get for doing badly though ^_^ "Alliance suck on this battle group" just sounds like whining, even to myself)

using the usual excuses
Heh, don't we all.
Maybe one reason for us to be, if you allow, a great asset to the BG group (sometimes) is that we all play arena with rating over 2k. We're on skype too, so coordination works pretty well.
E2: I realized my edit had no point and so deleted it. ^^

Congratulations Metalfenrir!
@Asakawa, when you said that getting over 1500 seems to be far in the future, let me tell you something (possibly motivating and couraging, if they're needed):
You have two keypoints for success: proper knowledge of game mechanics and experience from many (if not all) classes in max level. Those should get you past 1.5k with quite minimal practise.
Especially knowing what certain classes can do and will do helps you plan your moves ahead.
I might be wrong too, but...
I hope you'll get to know warlock in PvP content someday. Though it's bit weird now, since Blizz can't decide whether to give us spread damage or not...

^_^ That is encouraging.
I do think that knowing all the classes has helped so far though the fact that I play all the hybrid classes as healer means that I don't know their DPS specs all that well.
I think that the thing that might get me over 1500 will actually be the fact that I'm playing with two people in 3v3 who are better at PvP than me. I like to read and learn everything I can before getting into a situation, they're both just more intuitive and experienced.
Warlocks tend to be a reasonably easy kill for me as a rogue so from that point of view I'm not all that tempted to try Warlock PvP. Also, the major problem is that I already want tri-spec just for PvE. I
really
don't have a spare spec for PvP.

Quad spec would be ideal, tbh. Pvping in my Demo PvE spec will only work for so long.

Fortunately PvP isn't about 1v1.
But yea, warlocks are made of paper (exception if as demonology). Metamorphosis makes you last way longer against melees in duels.
As affliction most of self heal come from Haunt and Drain Life, both have cast time. Interrupts limit the self heal. And rogues have way too many interrupts >.<

Locks are especially vulnerable if you banish their pets!
The hardest comp so far for my team has been dual melee. Or physical dps rather, if I want to include hunters.
We have had a few matches though where me and my rogue buddy were victorious after our druid healer died (2v2 practice ftw!).
Also had a few funny situations with lolteams, like a dk standing still on his mount while 2 druids in his team are stealthing around, or a warrior and hunter that start to attack my pet instead of me ^_^

And your MMR is..? ^^
And true, Banishing pet temporarily removes Soul Link. It's sad how rarely I remember to use Banish in arenas.
And I've faced something in arena I still can't possibly understand. LSD2 (BLS). Warlock, Resto Shaman and Boomkin. I'm playing Warrior Lock Shaman and we haven't figured the way to beat that comp. They just devour us with that DoT hell :(
And I noticed I started every sentence with "and". How dull.

I wish we did have some 1v1 PvP though (very casual).

Matchmaking rating. It effectively determines who you'll fight (based on MMR, of course).

Ah crap, I was well aware what MMR is. Let me reconstruct that question:

Quiet in Warlock land today...
Personally I've been trying to decide whether to concentrate on my Rogue or DK for next season. Given my 3v3 team mates are a HPally and Warrior I'm thinking I ought to work on the DK really.

Go Dk, they are buffing their strength unholy bonus from 5% to 20%, that should make things interesting.

But I still can't believe my eyes, you playing PvP content?
I'm as surprised as you, believe me
wowsers, even you? 0.o
hey, maybe there's no such thing as hardcore pve'ers and pvp'ers then. it's only a matter of finding a playstyle that one digs for each setting.
rogue pvp does indeed seem very interesting...but damn it, I won't diversify! must.go.deeper.

Well, I'm really enjoying arena but it's that same thing that MMOs do well, a few friends having fun trying and wiping on challenging content. BGs I still find hateful (they're PuGs) but arenas are providing me with a ton of fun. We've got the team up to 1200+ rating, which was a struggle after a rough start, and are planning to seriously attempt to get our rating up in the coming season.
Part of me does wish I could be doing it on the Warlock but I really can't spare the spec.

you may still have quite some way to go resilience-wise? playing at say sub-3k would seem like an uphill battle with the damage output of many classes now.
as a side note, Im fascinated by the difference in playstyle between warrior and lock (beyond the obvious melee-ranged one). on the lock it felt as if control, positioning and foresight was everything, whereas the warrior is much more intuitive and a matter of adjusting to the immediate surroundings.

Well, I'm on ~2700 now so getting close to a reasonable figure for resilience.
