Love? We don't need
love
, we need souls. Copious amounts of souls, preferably from freshly fallen mages, but souls none-the-less.
However, if you're not referring to the chemically-induced feeling of attachment towards others, then perhaps we could use a touch--a scosche if you will.

So everyone see the new Call to Arms dungeon thing? I duno about you guys but I'm guna start calling 4.1 "Wipefest". All this change is guna do is make people want to try out tanking/healing, when they aren't geared for it. It may very well lower wait times... it's also going to leave us with a bigger repair bill from all the morons in the world.

yup, this has sparked some discussion in my guild.
the important thing is that it won't work. queues may reduce for a week or so but does anyone really believe it will last?
all it amounts to is an inducement for people who have no business tanking to do it anyway. as you say, it won't be fun.
as ever, i'm very glad i never pug.

And there's another reason added to my ever growing list of reasons to change guild. /sigh

I might stop playing rift for a bit when 4.1 comes out, but I'm burned out after transferring realms to play with my friend just to find out that his guild is not interested in me. Gearing up PvP wise for me is too hard, and with my schedule it doesn't work out for me.
Hey, you've probably been asked this numerous times, but what's RIFT like?
(No, I probably won't buy it. I play WoW and NWN2, but it never hurts to see what the competition is like in comparison to WoW.)
Also,
this is funny as hell
.
(Hi guys, it's been awhile hasn't it)

it's really good.
what it does is very simple, it's a solid MMO that updates and improves a few small mechanics (maps, looting, etc.) while innovating in a couple of key areas. the major innovations are the rift system itself - whole zones get attacked by hordes of different elemental factions and the whole zone needs to band together to repel the invasion - and the soul(class) system.
the class systems is particularly interesting to me. there are four callings (mage, rogue, cleric, warrior) and each calling has around 9 souls of which you pick three. you're effectively building your own three-tree talent panel from a list of choices.
the game tries to support the idea of there being four roles to play. not just tank-healer-DPS but they want to add support as a role. this comes in various forms but the most common i saw were dps/healing/buffing classes (bard) while pure CC classes (dominator) hadn't really caught on.
another nice thing with the soul system is that while the warrior calling has 3 tanking souls and the cleric calling has 3 healing souls, the rogue and cleric calling also have a tank soul while the mage calling has a healing soul. cleric is the most versatile (though people tend to assume cleric==healer) but all callings can do more than one thing in a group.

Exactleh.
=P
I can't stop playing the OC. With the mods I got for it, it's quite an excellent experience.

The class/soul concept seems pretty interesting.
Although I do wonder how they're actually going to balance all that.

I got up to level 30 in Rift. It was pretty fun. A nice break from WoW. I had a Mage with Necro/Dominator/... and the one that does DoTs. Basically, I had a Warlock. Two things I didn't like about it was PvP, because it really seemed as if my DoTs did no damage at all, and the feel of the character. For whatever reason, I feel as if I'm playing my Rift toon from a distance, I guess you could say. In WoW it feels as if the toon is an extension of my body. Not in the gay, "have to have every achieve for my e-peen to be hard", but in the actual feel of the game. It's kind of hard to explain, I guess.
Anyways, Rift is pretty cool. I know the Wowhead main page has a link to Rift trial keys. I suggest giving it a go. Once you get to see a major zone wide invasion event, you will be hooked, at least for a while. It's pretty effing cool. Feels like the opening of AQ gates, without the D/C's and logging back on to find youself no longer in Silithus, but on the Booty Bay boat, riding through the middle of STV.

I'll think about it.
So guys, has anyone played Civ 4?

It's awesome, though it takes a while to end a game... At least if you play with one friend of mine. Always "marathon" time scaling.
But have you tried Civ5? I find it much more... Hmm. Functional. For example I didn't like the unit stacking in Civ4. It sounds bit more logical that you can't put 30 battalions in the same square ^^
Another thing I like in Civ5 is that hexagonal grid.

I heard Civ 5 is extremely system intensive. If I can pick it up cheap I could try I suppose.
I still play 3, just because =D (It's pretty nice for picking up and playing).
Wow, 2 seconds on "that site" and I immediately found Civ 5...uhhhh

Yea it might be. I haven't tried it for a while but Civ5 at least had this "fog bug". The further you explored the more fog appeared. The more fog appeared the more laggy your game is. I heard it's fixed, but for sure I don't know.
And changing game:
Has anyone played Mass Effect series? They're one of the best game experiences I've had. If anyone has played, then what "class" did you choose and what kind of decisions you've made and with who did you get romantically involved with ^^ (forgive me for bringing such a non-warlock issue up!)
I played as Infiltrator in ME2, trying to play as paragon as possible and I chose Liara T'Soni.
