Star-Pelt's first iteration was... Not pretty.
How so?
God modey at the least. Awkwardly deployed at the most. He just seemed 'less' godmodey at times compared to his peers.
For the record, it WAS A20 with Blackbite's clan...

Sounds nastier than the average wolf.

Thanks EX4K, for both the complimets and the
VERY LONG
critisism. Edited the post btw.
And you should try undead rp, nothing beats a genocidal corpse that feels no pain, lost a arm? Shrug it of and keep fighting.
Her tendancy of fighting is not my intension, trust me.
Her personality is quite the pain sometimes.
Sorry for the opness, hope she can be a wee bit diplomatic now.
In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with a spiteful and overconfident character who wants to pick a fight. But if you play one, you have to be able to face the consequences, and they'll likely be unpleasant.
Agreed. The main problem with Falionna trying to join this particular group, in her current state, is the fact most of them have problems of some sort or another, often including a past they want to forget, and as a result they don't react well to being pushed around.
If you do want her to join this one successfully she needs to learn not to turn to physical violence so quickly and show the group what her good side is, though that takes time to do well, so they have reason not to decapitate her at the slightest provocation. That'll be a bit harder now that she's tried to kill them several times, so you may have to be patient in that regard, even if she starts doing things to redeem herself. Just as long as the way she goes about it fits with her personality.
As for it being a long list of criticism, it really isn't. It really just boils down to readjusting Falionna's power level, which is fortunately an easier mistake to rectify, whilst not diluting the way she is meant to come across to everyone else.
it's a mistake absolutely every single one of us has made at some point or another in our RP careers
I heartily agree, and it's utterly important that people are willing to learn, to improve, and to accept criticism.
Indeed, i didn't even realise my own foolishness there... But it is all trial and error, like how the first light bulb was made.
And I'm curious: What type of mistakes did you do?
Off the top of my head: extremely overpowered abilities, being closely connected with major lore characters in impossible ways and having characters do things that don't fit their personality in the slightest, simply because I wanted them to do it. Textbook stuff really - I've managed to stop doing the second and I think I don't do the third anywhere near as often now, once I have a decent feel for the character in question, in spite of the fact that can be inconvenient from a timezone perspective.
My characters do tend to get a bit on the overpowered side from time to time though, but that's usually in response to someone else doing it and me being too proud to back down, which isn't exactly a desirable trait at all. Realistically, even the L&RP veterans make mistakes in regards to power levels, at times, and if you feel someone else is being unrealistically powerful, bring it up with them here.
Also, in regards to the possession idea, I did not mean you had to do it necessarily, I just meant it as a possibility. In this particular set of circumstances I was thinking an NPC as opposed to one of the player characters, since right now we're trying to move the plot forward, but if you want to give it a shot it's up to you. She can always bide her time until an easy opportunity presents itself.

Well i could produce some nameless orc or the like to possess, it would feel very... Urghhh, for one to apear just when Falionna needs a host. Plus she would take the closest possible humanoid, not for dommination of the mind, just a hiding place.

As for my own past mistakes, I don't really want to talk about them, but trust me, they were bad, way worse than just about anyone else here.

You didn't have the voodoo/necromancer troll that fought a shard of Sargeras.
Dang, those were the days. Too bad Face left =/

I did have the former-Archmage/Monk Death Knight who predated the Titans though.

Edit: If you want to see the absolute worse RP that has existed on the board, check out Siege of Stormwind...I have no idea what we were doing in that one...

Yeah, I didn't mean she had to do it right now, I'd follow Skree's advice here - sometimes it's better to be patient and take things slowly.

Are we comparing all our miserable failures here?
I've got the undead battlemage-turned lich-turned human whose personality never even matched his motivation and UGH! Can we finally stop talking about him? >.<
I've got the womanizing Blue Dragon who has been retconned a crapload of times and I really want to use but he NEVER fits into plotlines.
I have the crazy rapist Draenei who I want to use as a villain, but the board is PG-13 and she gets overshadowed by all the "I'mma destroy the world" villains.
I have my terrible attempt at a fallen hero that was Xalgon; a complete and utter cluster@#$% of a character that didn't seem to have ANY sort of foundation. All he really did was randomly attatch himself to a couple female villains.
I've got the mentally handicapped purified succubus.
The Black Dragon who could make a decent villain, but for the life of my I've got no way to lead a plot along towards his end goal.
ALL my complete and utter fail DM attempts that I still continue to try.
My self-insert who absorbed magic using a glowing soul-shield or something. And then his "toned down" canon-friendly version rode a motorcycle UP A LANDSLIDE.
And really, I'm just terrible at RPing.

I wouldn't count Silvia as failure. If anything, it's good she's here to dilute the concentrated omnicidal mania of our typical villains.
Hrm. Might as well jump the bandwagon. There was this priest of Light who got killed and turned into Lich King's personal angel of death, complete with wings and a scythe, and then in a middle of a siege tried to specifically murder two random kids for the evulz.
Aaand the sueish unkillable warlock gauntlet, I suppose.

At first i thought it was a rp in a timeline where King Chin became horribly racist etc. Like a ally version of Siege of Ogrimmar. Given the similar names.
Are we comparing all our miserable failures here? Yes.

Was his name Kirkgos? He sounds like a aspect i know... Kalecgos: Dar'KHAAAAAAN!
And really, I'm just terrible at RPing.
Stop lying, or your pants will burn.

Was it a female turned valkir?

Matter of fact, no. Just an elderly human male priest.

Agreed, nor would I call several of the other characters on that list, the ones I have RPed with, failures. I feel the issue with Silvia, Atik, is that you're trying to force her too much into a specific role.
Neverthless, I much enjoy RPing with her, you certainly have a knack of that kind of character, you stalker you... :P
