Then your tanks are bad and need to l2p. It is that simple.
It is not extraordinary, it is in line with nominal expectations.
Completely quote. 30k crits are the ordinary right now and peaks of 69.000 aren't all that far away.

I hate to say it, but I agree with you here. The thing is, I wouldn't try to be so sarcastic or on-a-high-horse about it. :P
A lot of people didn't play the PTR or aren't in the beta, and this patch is a HUGE kick in the teeth from ALL aspects -- not just their one tanking role, but many parts of the game changed. They may have a lot of things to catch up on, and if you only spend a handful of hours a week playing, it can be tough to completely relearn your class. Hell, I have 5 80's I'm having to relearn -- none of which even regularly raid.
tl;dr yes, they need to L2P, so let's help and give pointers instead of bashing someone because they didn't magically know what to do on patch day. :) I mean, it's not like the patch is less than a week old or anything... ;3

Well, yes and no.
No, in the sense that the DPS need to back off too. Mages and other casters have been incredibly overbuffed with the patch, relative to all else. It just means that instead of facerolling, they need to learn to use all their threat reduction tools that they have at their disposal. I did a heroic on the weekend and pulled 12k DPS on one of the bosses, and the laggy tank was doing about 2k dps = ~4k TPS. Was that an issue? Mirror Images - voila! Invisibility! Pallies can use Hand of Salvation. Priests can use Fade. Rogues can use Tricks. Almost all DPS have some sort of tool they can use to manage their aggro.
The problem with most DPS at the moment is that they're too busy trying as hard as they can to ramp up the DPS, that they're not utilising all the tools at their disposal. Do they care about wasting a GCD on reducing threat? If it doesn't increase damage, hell no! That's the attitude that needs to change, not 'n00b tank l2play!'.
(Did I eventually pull aggro? Yes. But that's because the tank had a lag spike and stopped attacking. Mana Shield + Mage Ward + Incanter's Absorption = more pew pew fun. Generally speaking, I've been good enough to ensure I choose my targets carefully, not AoE when it's not warranted, and generally not be a tank's nightmare.)
Yes, in the sense that I also ran a heroic where the tank was so undergeared that the healer and 3 DPS had more health - 25.6k buffed. As long as I gave him a single GCD lead, the only possible problem was when I critted the first trash target. He was a good tank. But if I was going to be an arse of a DPS, it wouldn't matter how good he was.

Always nice to have 12 million beta testers.

Well, that's the point of releasing the patch a month and a half in advance of Cataclysm, isn't it?

What's changed is you can't just ignore your threat as a dps.
with that sentence you made this day a good tank day :D
my 2 cent:
tank is easier BUT need more brain imo...it's not a static rotation anymore...less tools but need to learn when use them...
btw
crusader strike for single target (boss)
hammer of the righteous for multiple targets
but guess with 2p t10 bonus you can just stick with HotR...do i speak the truth?
i am having some threat issue...

i hate that they have increased conseration cooldown my 22 sec and duration by 2 sec then need to make them the same because holding aoe aggro as a lv 76 prot pally is kinda hard when u get grouped up with people who have like 2-4 levels on you espically with the new now ranked spells and spells doing more dps by the level :(

Threat... reduction? Then what the hell is Cauterize for?

Consecration has never been our largest threat generator, and it still shouldn't be. It's always just been a few pokes and prods at off-targets, enough to keep them off healers. Any DPS who smacked them with an AOE would easily pull them right out of Consecrate.
But hey, you aren't 80 yet, and Consecrate is admittedly pretty good until then. You just got plenty to learn. :)
It's pretty amazing how much of a boost to threat Word of Glory will give you... that plus a 12k heal, what's not to like?
Uh... I don't get to see an 11k crit with my shield smash? :3 Actually, I rarely use SotR; I almost always use WoG, even if I'm at full health. I also love using it on my party, and love beating healers to the punch, and showing up only a little bit behind them on healing done. XD

See, the thing is, it is possible to be good at a thing without being an ass. You may want to try that, Aestu.

Threat... reduction? Then what the hell is Cauterize for?
PvP, obviously. With the change to Molten Armor giving Fire Mages a castable-while-moving Scorch, and taking away their 6% crit reduction, it's clear that Blizzard intends Frost to be the tanking spec, what with their improved shields and crowd control. :P

Meh, Cauterize is more fun. I can just
hear
healers saying 'ugh, stupid mage. At least that didn't hit him as hard as I figured it would. Actually, he's fine, I'll just heal up some of the others... hey what the hell what killed him?'

Heh, so true.
How does Cauterize work, have you tried it yet? Is it an automatic thing like Ardent Defender?
Edit: I take it back. On further thought, Fire really is the tanking tree. Thoughts here:

Yeah. I've had stuff kill me when I was
below
40% and it actually bumps you back up.
It ticks once per second I think, and mage ward takes like a half of one tick off. Actually mage ward kind of sucks in general. If Blizzard wants me to press utility buttons and play smart to make my healer's life easier, I should be able to see a difference between pressing it and not pressing it.
