I personally think its kinda pathetic especially since we've known these changes for weeks
really?
i didnt think they made it known they were screwing over melee dps and making casters and ranged dps retardedly OP
Got one thing to @#$%^ about: BG stability.
Fear not.
Rather than try and address multiple threads, I'm just going to plop our current thoughts in this one post. Please excuse the brevity.
1) We think Fury, Arms, Feral cat and Retribution dps is too low and we will be buffing them.
2) We think mage dps is too high, especially Fire, and will be nerfing it.
3) We think Shadow priest dps is too high, but that's largely a result of Shadow Word: Death spam, which is tough on healers. We'll be fixing that.
4) We think Destro warlock dps is too high, but that's largely a result of Searing Pain spam, which is tough on tanks. We'll be fixing that.
5) As we suspected, PvP dps is just too high given that the health pools of Cataclysm haven't kicked in yet. While competitive PvP is over for the moment, we still want the environment to feel better so we will be buffing resilience. This change might be reverted at level 85.
There will probably be more changes after another night of raiding and BGs. Many of the bug fixes we have made today will affect dps as well. Stay tuned.
Good! Whilst I don't want to see Paladins as overpowered as they seem to have been in the past, my DPS seems to have taken a bit hit in the patch. In the weekly run, in Naxx, myself and the other Ret Paladin went from topping the charts on the Lich King, to slipping beneath the sodding tank in terms of damage done! Obviously that can be put down in part to not being familiar with the changes, but the tank was in the same boat!

It makes me laugh. For ages we've seen the screenshots, you could have read the patch notes, people are over the moon excited about cata and all the changes...and then it hit.
People who do one lap on the practice dummy and declare their class 'dead'. Or the brilliant reply I got in guildchat when I pointed out that they are we're so excited about cata coming, and this is part of it: 'yeah, cata is good, but why did they have to change everything?'
Isn't the change the whole THING of cata?
And yeah, I knew that mana would be an issue for my class (holy priest). I'll deal with it. Really.

too much crying. Besides the inspect issue (which is fixed now I believe) and the annoying thing where you can't untarget, it's fine.
Yeah, they really should leave their new UI features off and strongly hint at their presence. Clicked that off as soon as I found that option.
Sticky targetting has been in the game for quite some time, so I wouldn't exactly call it a new UI feature.

Crazy amounts of QQ ingame though. It feeds me. =D
Sticky targeting has been around for ages, it was just usually off by defualt.

The only actual playing I have done so far was running HHoR with my resto druid to try it out, and I have no complaints. Had to think about what I was doing as stuff is quite different, but the biggest change was a big positive: I never even came close to dropping below 75% mana. I actually tried at one point to spam overheals and still couldn't drop mana fast enough for it to be an issue.
People are upset that they can't hit the same buttons the same way as always. Give it a few weeks. I am barely playing now as I am too busy herbing and glyph making and racking in the gold!

I happy with all my 10 80s. I have yet to try priest, druid, warlock, and rogue + try all my dual specs.
Go to your options menu and turn off "Sticky Targeting", it's on by default for some reason... pretty simple.
I'm happy with all the changes and can't help but laugh at trade chat. Other then a few d/cs I love my Resto Druid and Ele Shammy (haven't tried Balance or Resto for sham yet).
Just need to try my Warrior alt.

I think GC's post addresses most of the valid* QQs I've seen, save one:
Please fix battlegrounds!
Not the DPS, but the fact that out of five BGs last night, WoW locked up when the BG started in three of the five - and in
all five of them
I just randomly got booted out of the BG while in the midst of combat, and wound up with the Deserter debuff.
Overall, I'm not complaining about the mechanics changes. Once I realized that I should focus on one class at a time, to ramp up on the changes, rather than trying to dash between my three 80s and two mid-level alts, it's become much easier. I'll re-learn my Paladin's healing, then move on to my Shaman, then my DK, and finally go back to leveling my alts until Cata drops.
It's really just the patch bugs, and those are a minor annoyance - and I'm used to it, since they occur every patch. I just have to remember to turn off sticky targeting and turn back on auto-loot every time I log in.
*In truth, the cries are not completely valid. The problem is that the changes are fine,
but are balanced around Cata/level 85
. In the short term, they'll need to buff/debuff some classes until Cata comes out, and then revert those changes as people start leveling toward the new cap.

Patch worked fine for me. My latency has dropped by a good 50-60 ms. My fps has remained the same, and gone up in Dalaran.
The new talent trees work properly, macros are all still there, all parts are accounted for.
The only thing that’s been a problem since the patch downloaded (did I mention how fast and seamlessly it came on my PC?) is my Paladin. So many things on it just make it bothersome to play. So, I play something else instead of crying like an infant on the boards here, or mewling about it over Trade like so many others.
Apparently I’m in the minority.

I found the transition from theory to practice very easy, though that's probably just because my class hasn't changed much. However, my DPS did take a sizeable drop,
especially
my AoE DPS. Why would they nerf swipe that much? Doesn't make any sense.
I'd posit two reasons: First, stats are balanced around our characters having 5 more levels, several new spells, and much higher stats; and second, they are trying to get rid of the 'AoElol' attitude for dungeons, which included a greater difficulty for tanks to hold threat (which, in turn, may have resulted in a need to reduce AoE DPS to an extent).
Just theory-guessing.

At this point the game is just barely playable. I have been dealing with constant glitches and horrid lags. My cast bars keep disappearing and reappearing. I cant target mobs from time to time. The list goes on and one. I really think they tried to put too much into one patch.
One of the biggest lag makers has been out of date and broken addons. If you have quite a few like me the best to do is to turn on the LUA error panel then turn off the ones causing the most issues. To open the panel go to options/help/"Turn on LUA errors" (doing this from work so it may be slightly different in game).
I did this last night as I went on an addon download and correction spree. Once I turned off some major culprits (Questhelper and Altaholic. I will miss QH mainly for the cleaner easier to read quest panel and I hope Altaholic will get fixed soon) things got a ton better.
45-60fps/30ms-Elune server. =>
All in all I know after major patches it can take a whole week or MORE to get the bugs in the addons ironed out.

I'm loving the QQ! A friend of mine who works at an intercafe told me that he saw no less than 14 people deleting their character and storm out the place, tears in eyes. I mean come on... How can you not love that?
And loving the patch aswell. Best part would have to be the 27.38% hit I have in Elemental spec on my Resto Shaman now ^^ Spirit ftw?
Oh, and I too have tried dropping my mana. I spent a good 8 minutes trying my hardest and I still didn't emty the damn bar :D
I heart new patch!
