Anyone heard of this mod?
My friend asked me to uninstall this addon because he found out that there are anonymous port attacks when using it.
Anyone wanna double confirm that it's safe?
It's impossible for any addon to access the outside world. Blizzard does not allow this.

I can't see there being any problems with running LightHeaded. Works fantastic with TomTom, as well!

Not possible, Blizzard does not allows it, that's correct.

Mine seems safe. I agree using it with TomTom is great but is there a way to hide the co-ordinates that appear on screen? I don't need them there and they take up valuable addon space <-- addonaholic
L2readdocs/helpfile. /tomtom coords I believe is the toggle.

You can get it at the same place it's always been:
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7017-LightHeaded.html
As the author, I can absolutely guarantee that whoever told you there was something wrong, was full of crap :P.

I've been using it on alts for around one or two weeks. It's only used to read comments for me, because the coordinates do nothing for me (I don't use whatever mod it must require for that, I use standalone wowhead client too).
I haven't yet decided to keep or toss it.

Your friend is a liar. There can't be port attacks when using it because all the data is parsed and put into the lightheaded folder.
If you want to argue this take it up with cladhaire @ WoWInterface.
However, if he's a silly person and downloaded what he thought was this addon from an illegitimate source, it could do bad things to him (the uninstall part is kind of disturbing, I hope he didn't run an exe thinking it was the addon installing or something).

Okay just so that you all know, it is IMPOSSIBLE for a UI mod to open ports, install trojans, or any of that other garbage that people talk about. The only way for something like that to happen is if you run a .EXE (or similar executable program file)... There is no need to do this with LightHeaded, or most other UI mods for that matter.
On another note, don't be a noob and click exe's without knowing exactly what their for, thats how you get a keylogger and your account stolen :(
