Disclaimer:
This may very well end up coming off as a rant. This is not my intention. If mods feel the need to delete this post because I achieve nothing in it, then so be it. Names have been changed.
Lemme explain my raid set up before i begin. In my run last night, we used these classes.
Prot Warrior
Prot Paladin
Resto Shaman
Holy Priest
(Person in question, married to prot warrior, I'm calling this person Mary)
Holy Priest (me, normally on my mage)
Combat Rogue
Fury Warrior
Elemental Shaman
Frost Death Knight
Demo Warlock (Or rogue)
(We would normally have a holy paladin, but he wasn't on last night. the resto shaman would have been enhance, and the fury warrior would have not been present).
My issue is with the Holy Priest (Calling this person Mary). Our group is made up of a bunch of friends, the Priest and Prot Warrior are no exception. We've been running these ICCs for the past month and a half now, i wanna say. The problems have become more prevalent lately, and my sindragosa attempts (kill, actually, big deal for us n_n) last night pushed me to find a solution to this.
Our biggest hindrance is people dying to inadequate healing. Any fight with persistant aura damage, and someone will die first attempt, guaranteed, due to no incoming heals. People weren't dying in fire, they were getting out of bad stuff. What's going on here? I've spend hours pouring over the recount death log and spells used portion of the healing done log, identifying what's killed people, what spells the healers are using, and time and time again, It's no incoming heals that's the issue.
When these problems began to happen, I took a look at Mary's
spec
, and found some problems there (especially with glyphs!). The next day, i talked to her about her glyph and build choices. I link her a build that would adapt to her heavy flash heal usage, and include goodie talents for her to use that was more along the lines of the cookie cutter specs in EJ's forums. She doesn't really say yay or nay on my opinions of her character, but agrees that the build I linked her was a good one. Suffice to say, she showed up to the next raid night with her same build/glyphs, and terrible gem choices. I tried to help her out with these things for a about 3-4 weeks, and eventually gave up when she just never listened.
She also has a problem with tunnel vision, and apparently is very forgetful. I try to remind her of some helpful things to make healing the encounters easier that would most certainly prevent player deaths, and she listens, and starts doing what i tell her to. However, when the night is over, it's like her brain resets and we end up dying to the same stuff the next time we have to do the encounter.
My breaking point was last night. We killed Sindragosa, and as I looked over our healing done meters, I found she didn't use Circle of Healing even ONCE during our attempts. The shaman healer and I both did double her healing. All she used was Flash Heal, Prayer of Mending, Renew, and a couple Prayer of Healings, in that order on her recount page. If it weren't for me stacking some frost resist and eating a ton of Buffet stacks, we wouldn't have been able to kill her.
I've talked to a few of our Core 10 man, and we're pretty much in agreement to make her sit out raids if she doesn't try to improve. If this means losing her husband as a tank as well, we're fine with that, too. The Combat rogue and Resto Shaman both have tanks they wanted kingslayer on in the first place, and the original prot paladin has a great resto druid. My only problem is talking to them about it. I've tried to be as nice and forward as i can to help Mary improve, but it just isn't working. How can i tell them to either improve or sit without being a complete jerk?
Tl;DR: Priest won't improve no matter how much i try to help, people die to lack of heals. How do I tell them to buck up or sit without being a $%^&?

Thanks for the advice to running parses. I'll do that if our RL doesn't decide to bench them for this weeks raid.
The problem with her husband is that he's not that great of a player either. My boyfriend (who's main is a prot warrior) and our other tanks are claiming that while his Tps on tank and spank fights is fine, when he has to move or work around certain fight mechanics (Clearing buffet stacks, removing the frost breath slow with intervene, etc.) he falters. His minor mistakes don't usually wipe us, but I worry that his inability to multitask well while tanking will hinder our LK kill if he doesn't improve or heed the advice the others.
As far as the guild as a whole, we all know eachother IRL. There are 12 of us, and many of us have other alts that can fill different roles of the raid.
We two heal every encounter except Sindragosa (and sometimes VDW, if Mary is having problems), using a Holy Paladin and the priest. Our Holy paladin OOMs himself trying to keep his tanks and the raid up simutaneously, because the raid just isn't being healed like it should be. I'll be able to better identify what she's doing when i run the parses, but I believe i've done enough healing to know she's just not using her toolbox to it's full potential.
Thank you for the advice, I greatly appreciate it.

Lol No, We didn't carry her to sindy before realizing that her spec was terrible. I have a terrible habit of checking my healer's specs whenever i'm in raids with them. In our first couple nights when random dps were dying to just plain aura damage on BQL or even Festergut (yes, it's happened, SEVERAL TIMES >.<), that's when i intervened and tried to get her to respec/reglyph. She never did, though. That's her currrent spec, current gems, current gear. Hymn of Hope glyph, UGH.
Men do seem to take advice about the game better than women, great suggestion. I'll run it past the boys before they do anything drastic. I'm really wanting to run a parse to see just how she handles her spells in a live environment.
Our Paladin isn't going anywhere. He lives too close to us to even consider. Bribery with Cigarettes, Magic (the gathering, lulz), Call of Chthulu, and grape drank will keep him with us for good.

If she refuses to fix her PoS holy spec, she's likely not gonna go re-speccing disco. And then is she gonna screw that up as well?

People who spec for THAT MUCH mana regen are usually scared that they are gonna run out of mana and wipe the raid, and spend so much time worrying about it that they don't cast and wipe the raid.
I use power auras for SoL and Serendipity (with a counter). SoL shows a bright green horde insignia above my head and makes a loud, annoying wolf noise so I can't possible miss it.
Only fight where Silent Resolve is useful is Dreamwalker. In fact, Dreamwalker, BQL, and Sindra are 3 fights worth having a seperate spec for, but you can't carry 4 specs so yeah...

I don't think i've ever seen her use Hymn of Hope in our raids. I only have a vague idea of how she uses her spells from the recount logs, and I haven't had the opportunity to run parses yet.. I think the guys (ie, the rest of the 10 man) are more intent to just sit them because they're so antsy to kill the LK that they're not willing to try to get them to improve. I'm inclined to agree, but I like to give everyone a chance at the breaking point first.
I can tell you though that Silent Resolve shouldn't even be considered in a PvE build, since we have fade. Our tanks aren't that terrible, I assure you. As far as PW:S goes, I've only seen her use it maybe once or twice a fight if my memory serves me right, but again, it's another thing for me to analyze on parses if i get the chance. However, I certainly don't believe it's worth dropping the CoH glyph for. ...Then again, she didn't use it on Sindy (STILL HURTS MY BRAIN T-T)
I'll ask her if she has problems identifying procs such as Surge of Light and Serendipity. I currently use Power Auras to track those (and most of my spell cooldowns, for that matter). Something tells me she doesn't use very many mods at all.
@the disc suggestions
We're only running 10s, and in my experience, disc priest+ holy paladin 2 healing everything to sindy doesn't work too well unless both players are simply outstanding at their spec or we have good RNG. Bubble botting won't fix the problem. I'll be respeccing disc for our LK attempts, and if we do decide to sit her for those, we'll have a holy paladin and resto druid healing along side me there.
@Sinespe
..But but, all of my precious 80s D= If only you could, uhh, region transfer? lol.
Thanks, everyone, for helping me analyze this situation.

The 30% Strength of Wrynn buff won't make up for those flaws.
What is this Strength of Wrynn?
Only 30% buff in the game that I know of is called Hellscream's Warsong.
:P
PS: If and when you get parses post them up here. I think there's a few of us that would like to have a look. Well I can't speak for anyone else but I know that I'D certainly like to have a look-see.

I can tell you though that Silent Resolve shouldn't even be considered in a PvE build, since we have fade. Our tanks aren't that terrible, I assure you.
Reason I suggest it for Dreamwalker is (and this is more-so 10m than 25, this fight is harder on 10m):
Hunter distracting shots Blazing Skeletons, kites them around the room. Raid DPS is really crappy because our 15k DPS enh shaman/raid leader goes resto so we can 3-heal the portals while I solo-heal the raid. Adds die slowly, no-one's interrupting FB Volleys so I'm using a lot of Mass Dispel/PoH, extra Blazing comes up, hunter tunnels on kiting and doesn't pick it up, it makes a beeline for the holy priest who is highest on threat, I fade, desperate prayer, PoM myself, try to kite to a tank, I die, we wipe.
That was happening on our heroic attempts the other day. 3 times.
EDIT: Just as a note, my guild as a "casual hardcore guild" is really mish-mash, ranging from people who have Bane, to people who have never cleared Plagueworks on normal. I'm somewhere in the middle: capable of a backup slot in group 1 but unable to make the times due to living 14 timezones away from my server. At any rate this group was a mix of officers, officer alts, group 2 raiders like me, and mediocre casuals.

^ Why would you have a hunter kite blazings? Wouldn't there be lay waste going off crazy? It's been easiest for us when a hunter kites zombies, so he explodes away from the group as well.
Although if raid DPS is so low that a holy priest becomes highest on threat, I think the group needs to be adjusted to get through heroic dreamwalker. If the group is good enough that the fight can be downed, I doubt Silent Resolve is going to be needed.

Might be blisterings, they both start with "b" -_- seeing I don't DPS I wouldn't know. I just know I was getting smacked on. And yes even though it was a guild run, it was pretty rag-tag.
